Yes. Why limit it to options, though? We can do burn down buildings AND kill rednecks in self-defense.

    God bless America!
Why not offer up your home, car and other personal property then? Give me your address and I’ll be happy to post it around social media for protestors.

Just in case it needs to be said, I don’t mean that. I don’t wish that one anyone here. I just don’t know why people support the rioting and burning of businesses and personal property.

I don't think anyone supports that on this board.

If you read the post I replied to, I asked dankind if he really thinks showing up to riots armed and ready is a better idea than not burning now private businesses, his response was “Yes. Why limit it to options, though? We can do burn down buildings AND kill rednecks in self-defense. ”
Does that not sound like in support of rioting? It did to me. If that’s wasn’t his intent then my mistake.
But I wasn’t just referring to here, I remember many posts on social media in general in support of the riots.

And that's probably a big piece of why Kyle's a hero. Cops need to be able to continue to kill black people not only with no legal consequences but with no community response. Let's scare them into staying home.
    Lol. Wow.

I don’t understand why people support the police killing unarmed people, mostly people of color and for frivolous crimes like selling loosies or trying to pass off a “counterfeit” bill for a couple packs of smokes or not “complying,” or thinking it’s totally acceptable to give “bumpy rides” and vote for a POTUS who advocates roughing people up. Ever think if that shit stopped the burning and looting might not be as prevalent? People act like the protests happened because well, they had nothing better to do and there was nothing to protest or to be outraged about. The cop who shot Jacob Blake in the back seven times was never charged and it seems an awful lot of folks here and elsewhere are completely fine with that.

    No justice, no peace.

You mean to tell me that the extreme venting of frustration and anger didn't just pop out of thin air because people had nothing better to do?  And here all this time I thought these things were happening because police departments have been neutered by Antifa.

I like the idea of scaring people out of rioting. It would prevent things like what happened with Rittenhouse from happening. We're lucky that this didn't happen more often during the rioting. There are plenty of vigilantes that would love to interject themselves into these situations like Kyle did except those vigilantes WANT to kill people. If I had a business in a city where there was rioting happening, I would've done everything I could to protect my property and would've asked anyone to come help my business. Society is talking about policing and how we need to reimagine it. Forcing the public to police themselves is going to be dangerous and many more criminals would end up being killed because of it.

I'm not talking about protesting. I have no issues with peaceful protests.

Just what ‘Murica needs. Yee haw! Background check, schmackground check. Under age? Convicted felon? No worries. What a country!

Ghost guns were used in nearly half of the firearm deaths in San Francisco last year, according to the district attorney. In 2020, San Francisco police seized 164 ghost guns; four years earlier, the number seized was six. This year, San Diego police report recovering nearly 400 ghost guns by early October, about doubling the amount for all of 2020. Los Angeles police say 24 murders in 2021 have been committed with ghost guns.

But the epidemic is nationwide, according to law enforcement officials. In the nation’s capital, the local NBC affiliate reported last week that of more than 280 arrests for ghost guns so far this year, nearly 100 have involved teenagers. D.C. police say ghost gun seizures have jumped from just three in 2017 to 306 last year.

I do remember an interview where Vedder said that he hopes that people supporting gun rights "almost wishes bad things upon these people."  I'll never forget him saying that.

At the risk of getting into too much nuance, is it people supporting gun rights or people actively making sure nothing changes?

Both is how I read it.
"I get so angry that I almost wish bad things upon these people," Vedder said. "But I don't have to because it seems like they happen anyways. It seems like every week I'm reading about a 4-year-old either shooting their sister, their dad, their dog, their brother or themselves, because there's fucking guns laying around. But I guess it's 'fun.'"

I chalk that up to someone just talking out of pure frustration, not literally wanting people to kill themselves because of their stance on 2A.

It’s too semantical (if that wasn’t a word, it is now) to get further into who/what he meant. Eddie says outlandish shock-value things…only one of which pissed me off (I got smacked around on the Porch for my thoughts on that one). Oh well, I think about the lyrics to Present Tense more than I think about that.

I read it as if you are not with him if something bad happens you deserved it, but hey,  It can be interpreted differently sure but when you hear him say the words and see the look on his face, it through me for a loop.
