I didn't know how "Seven O'Clock" would translate live but the band does amazing things with this song. I don't know if it will ever be a show stopper but for me I'm excited to hear it live.

It's one of those fall days that brings a chill you can't shake. I've come to love fall but I don't think I'll ever get used to these days, reminds me of the dark of winter...I guess the hope of the spring and some shows are what always push me through.

The mid-tempo to slower songs off Gigaton work so well live. Better than the burners. That's a surprise to me. They all work but a song like 7 O'clock that I thought wouldn't be able to do justice to the studio is a sprawling master work in music creativity.

Matt's drumming in "Retrograde" and "River Cross" is so powerful and yet restrained. The dude is the engine of this band. Those songs show just how soft songs can become something so much more with some power in the background.

New Dave Matthews Band vinyl is a 2000 bootleg. Looks awesome. I love the DMB shows from 2000. That might've been one of my favorite years for tours. I believe (sorry, memory is foggy) but I saw Chili Peppers/Foo Fighters that year as well.

So much of the music I listen to still sounds fresh, and I'm wondering if it's because I'm listening with the ears of nostalgia....Not just Pearl Jam but so much after the early 90's still sounds new to me. Maybe it's the fact that most radio play now is auto tuned and the sounds and tech dates music so much faster. But the same could be said about the 60s and 70s where sound was evolving but totally new.
