  • I thought Russ was good because there was less fooling around and more focus on the game. That worked for me in the 4th quarter and OT.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised with this telecast. I know people who did not like it though.
Well that's why it's good that it's an alternate broadcast. It's not for everyone, and like I said, if I wasn't watching the game alone, I probably would've had on the regular broadcast too.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle a crappy game though. This was a really good game.

Good point about watching it alone.

I kind of think a crappy game would be better with them verses the actual broadcast, assuming they have the freedom to speak their minds call out coaches and players for poor performances. Would be more entertaining. We're bound to get a crappy MNF game sooner than later!

It was decent for their first go at it. They will get much better as the season goes on....it would also help if they could get them in the same room.

This clip here perfectly sums up what this alternate broadcast is. Peyton imitating Lamar's cadence while Eli makes fun of his big forehead....

"Shocking that they didn't have a helmet that fit you"...

This focus on taunting penalties this year is an absolute joke.  Making these games tough to watch.

It's the same thing that happens every year. They come up with something to "focus on" in the offseason. They do the first couple of weeks, everyone hates it and they ease off as the season progresses.

Also, the Titans benefited from a taunting call yesterday so I'm on board with it...for now.

Its way too subjective for my tastes.  There is some degree of 'taunting' nearly every play.

Yep.  Kinda like when they let teams challenge pass interference a couple years ago.  Just an absolute disaster.

Decent game last night. The Peyton and Eli show was entertaining as hell, especially late in the 4th. That Pat McAfee fella was deathly afraid of that dreaded back door cover.

I think the refs missed a delay of the game on the play before.

Indoors.  The kickers are so good today that nothing surprising me when kicking indoors.  More amazing about it was that it hits the upright and still goes in:

    Fucking losers.
First, Jimmy needs to sit....at the very least they need to get Lance some series.  Jimmy beIng a statue back there, combined with his questionable throws, really hurt them
Second, how in the heck do you not milk the clock down to the game being determined by your offense?  You give the ball back to one of the all time great QBs who just needs to get into FG range when your secondary is an injury ward?
    So dumb.

I bet against my team, on the Packers, but I was rooting for Niners at the end anyway.

    Football is awesome/awful.

Watching Stafford and Carr have the season they are so far is good stuff (yes, it's barley week 3)... a couple stand up dudes throughout their career. Good for them playing some killer ball early on.... fun to watch....

Lions curse lives on, they got fkd on that one

Brady will break Drews record next week in the place he once called home, televised... crazy....(kudos to DB)

Carr has been fantastic this year.  Good for him as he has been dealt a lot of crap during his career and he has done it all w class.

    Stafford is another one.

Aaaaand my favorite story of the year.  Sam Darnold.  3-0 on a team that knows how to coach.  The Jets have become an absolute dumpster fire these past 10 years.  The Giants aren't that far behind either.
  • The 49ers left Rogers to much time…what a great Sunday night game.
On the go-ahead TD to the fullback, Jimmy G. took the snap with like 14 seconds left on the playclock. Could've run that down and Rodgers would've only had like 23 seconds or so.

I was among the people that thought Roethlisberger still had something left in the tank. Considering he missed all of 2019 with an injury, and had no running game at all last year, I thought he was pretty good last year given the circumstances, even if he did fall apart at the end of the year.

Nope, he's washed. This play right here is very representative of his day yesterday. I watched this clip like 10 times in a row and laughed each time.

Steelers fan here. When virtually every throw has to be short and hurried its either you arent nearly mobile as you once may have been or your O line is garbage. Or both.

I get Ben still has that fire and desire to compete and appreciate reworking your contract. Desire and Fire mentally doesn't equate to physical ability.  But dude, if we have to eat shit this year , I'd prefer we did it with relative inexperience. And Rudolph can keep his cushy back up job. or move his ass to the practice squad.

Huge failure by Steelers management to not have a succession plan in place.  Rudolph was never the future.  There could be some bleak years ahead.

The Steelers will be fine I think.  Maybe an off year, but overall they have a very healthy organization and should always be close to competing.

Capable NFL Quarterbacks are suddenly in plentiful supply.  Not everyone is a physical freak like Mahomes, Josh Allen, etc... but there are so many good players at that position now, and it seems like more and more are coming out of the draft every year.  The day of 4 or 5 teams who have the 4 or 5 'franchise quarterbacks' running the league for 10 years is over.

Nowadays it is even possible to snipe quarterbacks on the secondary market and succeed.  Darnold with Carolina, Bridgewater, Wentz, Stafford/Goff, Brady, Winston, even Fitzpatrick would have probably led Miami to the playoffs last year if they let him (and he would have/might do the same for Washington).

He couldn't play in the week 17 game against Buffalo due to COVID. Buffalo would have probably creamed them either way. Nevertheless, they were 10-6 last year and that's usually good enough for a playoff spot (the NFC had an 8-8 team and a 7-9 team last year). He was absolutely better than Tua. And yesterday, Brisset looked better than Tua as well.
