Love the new song sounds like Tom Petty hope the rest of the album sounds like this it would be EV’s best effort.

    I’m not sure I love it, but it’s definitely better than Take The Long Way.

    I'm guessing that the entire album is not Petty-like but rather an eclectic collection of tunes.  I'm really looking forward to it.

    Not looking forward to EV going full folksy-bluegrass, and I'm not a huge Petty fan.

    That’s an interesting take.  I feel like it’s been the opposite.  My ears have me believing that everything Ed has released solo until now has been folksy.  This song actually had an electric guitar solo in it.

    Definitely thought of Petty while listening to this, except that it's about 90 seconds longer than a Petty song would be. My first impression after one listen is that the music is solid, but I'm not sure I dig the lyrics. I'm sure it'll grow on me.

    In addition to the obvious Petty influence (love that Benmont B3 all over this!), upon repeated listens, I'm getting some early 70's Laurel Canyon sound vibes as well. The more I listen, the more I feel like this is a bigger departure for him that it might seem on the surface. Can't wait for the album.
