Lolla is 5x capacity of Ohana. We got a few weeks before we know if that was super-spreader or a non-issue. Chicago’s starting to encourage masking indoors again as a general precaution.

Nice to finally have something to contribute show and hair wise. Not sure if the fan club has a ticket lottery for Obama's birthday party this weekend?

    • Pearl Jam was set to play, and one local hairdresser had been retained to style the hair of a band member.

Wish that were true my friend. This variant is a dark, killing machine. It’s making the vaccinated VERY ill. Unless the numbers of vaccinated skyrocket in the next 3-4 months, it’s going to be another long year for us all. As a parent and caring human, all you all who have little kids, be super careful out there. Our friend was a vaccinated nurse and brought it back home and it nearly killed her daughter, shut down a weeks worth of summer school & infected scores of others (thankfully we were away off the grid when it happened). I do hope you all get to see live music again. I do. It’s a perilous time right now though. A virus mutates to survive and sadly the unvaccinated are allowing it to carry on, mutate & be a more efficient killer. Sending my VERY best to each and every one of you. Truly. I hope your shows go on and that nobody gets sick, or worse, dies. Kindly stepping away from the discussion now.
for gods sake, stop it already!! Do some research before posting crap like this. Facts and numbers don't lie.
Yikes, it’s people with this level of fear driving the pandemic at this point. Last I checked 5 fully vaccinated Americans dying from Covid per day. Better chance of my ceiling fan falling and killing me on my way to the kitchen for dinner. The world has lost its collective mind and there’s no end in sight.

Sure, your fan isn’t going to fall on you…but what if every time you walked directly under your fan, a stranger somewhere got seriously ill or died? Would you still take the direct route to your kitchen every time, or would you maybe suffer some inconveniences? Would your answer change if you were assured that the people who would get sick or die were mostly jerks?

I get the frustration about these threads continuously turning into Covid discussions, but I don't see how we can possibly discuss what shows may or may not happen in the near future without discussing Covid.

Fall Out Boy just pulled out of Hella Mega tonight in NYC and tomorrow in Boston because a staff member has covid. I have a friend who is crushed (save the taunting).

A reminder everything can go as planned and then it doesn’t. So perhaps PJ is on the right path with limited shows this year.

I was supposed to see Soul Asylum tomorrow at a local club but they've rescheduled the first 7 shows to next year but the rest of the tour is still on, citing "logistical" reasons.  Don't think it's COVID because the tour is still on.

Also, any updates on PJ's random stop in Hartford?  Are they still friends with the local promoter there?

It was the same thing at Lollapalooza. Most likely the same at every festival.

Sales started in March 2020 for this one.  I find it interesting that the notice provides just enough lead time for someone to get a 2 dose series of Moderna and be 2 weeks post-second dose by the festival date, Moderna being the US authorized vax that has the longest interval.  Could be coincidence, but may not be.

Lolla reported 90% entered with vaccination cards, 6% with negative test result, and 4% turned away at the gates on the first day with the requirement. Didn't seem to affect as many people being turned away after that.

SHN/Ohana have enough time to communicate safety mandates and offer strategies for those not able to attend. Seems like they have most bases covered - ticket exchange available to sell your Ohana Fest and Encore tickets (check your order pages), a waitlist option for those willing to buy whatever tickets may go unused/refunded. And if things are looking real bad, they get rescheduled and offer refunds.

I’m fully vaccinated and was initially against all these mandates but clearly that ship has sailed. I’m cool with them requiring vaccinations if we can have a normal experience. If a few anti vaxxers or people dragging their feet get the shot because of a potential mandate I think it’s well worth it. Rumors are FDA will approve Pfizer next month. This will assist the push for mandates. Those Lolla numbers are impressive, I feel like the country is turning a corner. I know of several family and friends who have changed their tune in the past few weeks. All this Delta hysteria actually doing some good, If we can get from 70% to 80% by the end of the year, with children eligible by early next year we might make it out of this by next summer. Especially with the unvaccinated getting infected at the clip they currently are. Would love to enjoy some PJ shows next year without the topic of Covid always lingering.
