It's easy to become numb to the numbers, but we've lost so many friends & family to negligence, disinformation, and just a general lack of readiness in a time of crisis...

it just feels like this song will once again chart the path to healing & celebration.

Great choice. Lots of options out there but not much better than Long Road.

Release and Corduroy would fit too.

Who Ever Said, or Alright if it has to be a Gigaton song.

Alright would be great, too. If they kick into Who Ever Said, they might as well just open the flood gates on Gigaton & do the whole thing B)

Newest album as opener would be a first!

    Nice avatar!

Alright would be hoooooooorible, to me.
    There, I typed it.

Other options seem good.  H2I.  Go.

Either way, they should live stream this bad boy and give the proceeds to charity...or to the road crew or something....but a way for folks to enjoy seeing this as it happens w/o being there.

That's brilliant. I so badly want to see these shows and they're important shows for all the fans. So glad for those that can be there but I think we all want this so bad (so does the band, so does the crew) and you could charge me whatever you wanted if you said those streaming proceeds went to the crews and/or anyone negatively effected by the pandemic.

I was burnt out on hearing Elderly Woman when I saw them open with it in Montreal '11...  Seeing it as an opener totally brought me back to that song.

For the "HELLOOOOO,  MY GOD IT'S BEEN SO LONG...." part they brought up the house lights as the crowd sang along, I'm getting chills as I type, remembering how great it was.

Maybe the best opener I've seen, TBH.

Well Bruce has to show up right? Patti is playing that night. PJ are playing in his back yard. I mean do they do Better Man together and then cover one of his?

It’s a hard song to get excited for at this point, I agree…but I’m not gonna lie: as the opener for the first post-pandemic Pearl Jam show, I can definitely see it making me bawl my eyes out like a big ol’ baby.

Best deployment of EWBTCIAST was when they turned around to the back at MSG & played for the behind-the-stage crowd.

Both good songs, but work better somewhere near the middle. Like if a PJ show is a 3-act play, then somewhere near the end of the 1st, or beginning of the 2nd. They will go for something familiar, and with weight. Again, good songs.
