    Highly recommend this bad mofo. Pulled the aerator today. Step one sometime this week. Haven't had rain for over a week. But we did get snow 3 days ago. No major chance of rain in the 10 day either.

    What's everyone's schedule for fertilizer/seed?
    This year i'm going with:

    Crab grass preventer in March.
    Weed n feed Mid May.
    Crab grass preventer late June.

    Sprinklers are on 3-4 days a week 20/minutes zone.

    I usually seed in the fall.
    I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

    Pretty much the same as yours. Only I'm a bit behind in getting the crabgrass preventer down this year. Great weather this weekend and upcoming week with rain not likely. Weather isn't playing nice.

    Also aerated today. Dethatch in a few weeks after my 3rd mow. Lively dethatch again prior to laying seed down later in the year.

    I went with the Honda. First mow was yesterday. This mower has a cool feature that lets you control how much you mulch/bag. I set it about half and half yesterday. Seemed to work well. 


    I will need a new striper though. My old one doesn't fit well with Honda's.

    Had our tree guy here this morning.  F lawns, F landscaping, F trees.
    Need two-three more very large trees removed.
    Slowly removed almost all of the trees from our yard, by necessity.  What looked like a really great backyard now looks like a yard with a pool in it.
    Great.
    Fall time is when you plant new trees -- wonder what fixing this all if going to cost us.

    Sorry to hear F Me. Lawncare/scaping is a constant work in progress. A having trees taken down is a huge difference maker and you can't do much about it. New trees take so long to develop. And trees of any significant size are outrageously expensive.

    Yup -- one of the last ones was 5k before the stump removal, which took place later (insurance covered the tree removal but not the stump) and was another $1,200.

    People with proper tools, equipment, teams, and insurance are crazy expensive.

    They just came and took 2 small trees down to the bottom (arbor vitaes, nothing crazy) and it was $275.  Took them all of 20 minutes to take and buzz them up so we can have the landscaping team in to clean/open our yard for spring.

    All a money pit!

    When we first looked years ago to find what company we wanted to use for this stuff we had some people show up w/o insurance...once a guy gave me his car insurance, another his basic business insurance....laughable shit.  Sure I could get it done for far less but I am not getting sued for some dude falling 50 feet to his death in my backyard or chopping off his arm.

    Yeah -- you are fucking nut, dude.
    Father in law asked me last week if I wanted his old chain saw.
    Nope.  Pay people to do that shit, I am not that guy.  I'd break my damn neck or cut my arm off.  I'm game for hard work and for trying...but something would go very wrong if I tried to do this work. 

    Only 5k for what the wife and I both thought would be 8-10k. 
    Sucks when you are excited to only pay five grand to make your yard look worse!
