    I don’t see how playing up the fear of a global pandemic that has killed 3M worldwide & upwards of 600K domestically is the same as downplaying it which has absolutely led to more deaths, but if bill maher said it, then it must be true.

    I agree with the bolded wholeheartedly. We’re both saying it. Fear and no hope angle and the constant overload of this type of coverage could lead to things like depression, suicide, drug overdose etc...  both sides overplayed their hand to the point of hurting people in different ways, all for ratings essentially imo. Not everyone is mentally strong enough to deal with the doomsday coverage.

    Except suicides went down in 2020. So yea, both sides. And what’s all this “no hope” bullshit being spewed? I haven’t seen that at all. Go live your life. Sheesh.

    I think a part of the lefts message of doom and gloom(no hope or whatever you want to call it) is calculated for ratings. I also think a small portion of it is by design so people do not think we are out of the woods too early and go back to our normal ways. We have gone through what 3 waves of this shit so far? You have to have a message to say we are not out of this yet but I feel like the mix between negative and positive was terrible from the start and also misinformed just to have a flashy headline.

    No I think it has contributed. Especially Trump. 

    Agreed; with that in mind, I don’t understand how one could entertain the conversation that the left-wing media’s coverage is every bit as bad as the right’s, when the right’s is adding to the death toll & making recovery more difficult. 

    & if the tucker carlsons of the world, being as far to the right as they are, are the only ones calling out the left leaning media, maybe the left leaning media isn’t leaning nearly as left as the tucker carlsons of the world want you to believe.
