Yes, true he was almost 102, but how do you not feel terrible at such a loss?   What a marvelous, fascinating character.
R.I.P Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
Lawrence Ferlinghetti outside City Lights in San Francisco

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Let's all wish him well as "the smiling mortician" ferries him away to the "Isle of Manisfree."

Definitely a loss of a great talent.  That said living to 101 is a full life lived.  RIP Mr Ferlinghetti

When I lived in Alameda, I use to go to City Lights book store and then hit up Vesuvio’s for drinks. I’ve always been a big fan of that era, Jack Kerouac, etc.. Taking drives out to Big Sur, good memories.. RIP LF

City Lights is so, so cool.  I love that poetry room upstairs.  Man, it's been a few years... too long.
