Well put. I myself sat beside a meathead is the front row on the balcony that was stoned off his gourd and was all over the place with his emotions and actions. He first started off with screaming and yelling trying to get the whole place to chant, then the guy crashes and practically falls asleep, probably in a weed coma, which then he gets the jitters and shakes all night long. Then the dude starts crying as he was "so touched to be so close to Eddie" being his favourite artist.
None the less, it made the evening pretty distracting.
I saw that dude...on the aisle, big guy, green shirt? He was screaming his lungs out before Ed came out? Looked like he was gonna jump? I had a similar dude beside me in LA - he was saying how Ed was his jesus and stuff and it was the most incredible night of his life - he told me how he spent all kinds of money he didn't have to be there but his wife told him if it meant that much to him he should go...buddy then proceeded to miss 3/4 of the show at the bar. Security had to escort him back to his seat he was so drunk (as opposed to putting the dude in a cab, what they should have done). He then started to sob uncontrollably. Good times. I was actually fearful for our safety. $500 in the upper balcony at the Wiltern well spent, eh?
Arc was amazing!!! (I loved it.)
Believe you me sounded sweet, believe me.
Parting Ways was really well done with Liam.
Liam and his partner were very good. Try not to miss them!
Man of the Hour was lovely.
Goodbye and Brokenhearted were incredibly sad.
Picture in a Frame was beautiful.
I was excited to hear the into the wild songs!!
Arc was REALLY great!!! (Yes I know I already mentioned it but I had to say something again.)
P.S. I feel sorry for whoever sits next to the dolt that was on my left. He not only loudly sang aloud with Ed, he was singing INTO his rolled up poster like a megaphone to amplify his voice. I could have killed him had I not been DETERMINED to enjoy hearing the concert.
meatheads: put duct tape on your mouth to keep from drinking and yapping all night and ruining the show for everyone else. better yet, stay home.

in nyc people were being idiots too. from the reviews of the boston shows it seems like some people were real assholes. don't let that take away from the actual concert last night that was amazing!
It was the Ed poster. The Merch guy told me that that batman poster would be sold tonight
Thanks, seems like a lot are floating around, so won't be too hard to get a Batman one, would be easier if they were being sold at the show I'm going to.

That was him; big guy in the green shirt. I had the non pleasure of sitting beside this prick the whole night. The dude kept shaking with the jitters all night, which was probably due to the weed. I felt like I had my wife's vibrator in my pocket rubbing against my leg the whole night.
Eddie Vedder solo at Massey Hall...when will you ever get a chance like that again? Therefore, I figured it's a great opportunity to leave the raucous behaviour to the stadiums shows and just sit back and take this intimate performance in. There's a time and a place.
I was starting to think the only right I had to be there was to be an obnoxious retard.
Glad to see there's a few of us here on the same page.
im completely in love with whoever requested 'believe you me"... my lord, it made my night

I had one asshole sitting behind me who has obviously spent the majority of his life flying under the radar of retardation. On the rare occasions that this fucktard didn't have a beer chugging down his throat, he was yelling the most undecipherable, non-lingual gibberish at Eddie.
Every time there was a pause...this ape would bellow out some stupid shit at the top of his lungs, take a swig of beer and then laugh at himself. Every one around him threatend this douchbag with fates worse than death and he just kept yelling and getting drunker and drunker.
Finally...this older dude who looked kind of like the Incredible Hulk turned around put a finger directly to this assholes chest and said "The next time I hear even the slightest fart from you...I'm going to grab you by the throat and throw you off this fucking balcony...So sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up".
It was awesome.
The retard looked like he was going to either piss his pants or break down and cry.
I swear we didn't hear another peep from that fucker for the rest of the evening
i wonder if he'll play Long May You Run again tonight, or some other Neil tune?
any guesses? i'd love to hear him do Don't Let It Bring You Down...

anyone else a dork like me who purchased the sticker/pin set last night? They charged me $10 - for stickers. I asked if it was a mistake, but the wall clearly said $10. Granted, it is a $5 premium over what I was expecting to pay, but...wow $10 for some pins.
there is at least one bootleg of last night's show available...not as good quality as the west coast ones tho :( that's all i'll say now. Those interested in more info feel free to pm me.
I have an asshole story. I had to put this fucker in his place. So this couple shows up late. They came when Eddie was talking about Neil Young. Right before MOTH came on. So he comes to his seat and right away gets on his cell phone and calls his buddy who is there too. Talking at the top of his lungs he's like "SHIT DUDE, I'M CENTER. THESE SEATS ARE SO GOOD!!!" While this asshole is talking I pretty much miss everything Eddie is saying. So MOTH starts and this asshole keeps talking over the music. First he's telling his girlfriend how much he likes her, and how their so perfect for eachother. And then he gets his cellphone back out and is like "HEY CHECK OUT THE PICS OF MY KID!!!!" So at this point i'm fucking angry, and everyone around me was getting angry because we just missed half of a song. I lean over towards him and say "Listen, if you're going to talk the whole show go out there and do it". This guy gets pissed and says "You want me to go out there, lets fucking go outside and settle this out there" So I say to him "Shut you're fucking mouth" And he's like "Why the fuck are you bustin' my balls for talking to my girl. I say "Buddy just shut the fuck up" At this point the usher comes down and tells him to shut it. The guy behind me talks to him. And then next thing you know he says to me "Ah sorry man, i'll be quiet". 45 mins later he leaves the concert. What a fucking tool.
if anyone's still on here, im still looking for a single ticket to tonight's show, if i dont find one before 6:30 im just gonna stay home... and cry a little...

I am new to posting on this board but have been following threads for sometime.
I will say I hit the Montreal shows on the weekend and Massey last night and WOW!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately I don't have a meathead story, most of the decent people must have been sitting with me on the floor
Soooo wanted to stay and see the second show tonight but due to work, just was not able too..
An incredible mesmerizing evening though..
I am still speechless!
Ed had the most crowd connecting feel I have ever seen (or felt).
I Still remember lining up at an HMV in Calgary for Ten!!!
in nyc people were being idiots too. from the reviews of the boston shows it seems like some people were real assholes. don't let that take away from the actual concert last night that was amazing!
I was there in NYC the first night and the crowd was really respectful. In fact Eddie said "Well, I guess I left all of the assholes in Boston".
What a great show! I was able to catch Boston 2 as well and between the two shows, I got to hear just about everything I had wanted. Ed is such an amazing musician. Playing solo really showcases his talent. He was pretty chatty and seemed to be in a great mood. The yellers were better behaved than in Boston which was a treat.
My seats were in the bleeders, but it didn't matter. I could see and more importantly, hear. Such a beautiful venue. I was surrounded by people who also were big fans so that helped the experience.
Loved the covers, ARC just is the most beautiful loop I've ever heard. I'm so glad I got to hear it twice.
Liam is also pretty killer, Society with the two of them was kickin'. And of course, Hard Sun. Wish I'd seen him open.
Thanks EV for a great show!

I liked the crowd in Toronto 1. I thought it was entertaining and ed handles it so well. He knows when he's talking with long pauses that people will shout out, so when he wants to keep talking, he just does that. Otherwise it looked like he was having a lot of fun with crowd, and that was really really fun to watch. More than a few times he left us in stitches with his retorts to the peanut gallery.
Liam Finn has an amazing live show. Amazing. His CD does not do the live show justice in any way, shape or form. Oh, and my wife noticed that, for the two songs Liam played with Ed during Ed's first encore, he was completely flying low the entire time....I suppose he was THAT baked, as Ed pointed out.

I don't dig MOTH but last night was a very good version of the tune.
dude! ... 2nd row!! ... sweet! ... yeah, i could have listened to that song as an instrumental last nite ...
I totally agree, I always thought it was a nice song, but I never really could get into it...last night it gave me chills!
Peace
