Love every song on Youth & Young Manhood. I wore that CD out back in the day. Aha Shake Heartbreak and Because of These Times were pretty good too, but not like that first album was. Only By Night was their breakthrough smash hit and I'd say just a notch below the debut, but great album top to bottom. Haven't really been too interested in their last three albums (my loss probably), but I have downloaded a few new songs since Only By Night. My buddy says the most recent WALLS is pretty good, I'll have to check it out. KOL are great "new" band. I'm 45yo so it's hard to find time to get into many post-2000 bands for me, (it'll happen to you youngsters someday too) but I really enjoy Kings of Leon.

This is a great B-side from "Four Kicks" off of Aha Shake Heartbreak. Still can't beat a great 2 minute rocker.

Great song no matter whether you like them or not this version is a beauty..
That is one of their best. I really do miss their sound off Because of the Times. Their first 3 albums are all killer, no filler

I do really like Only by the Night. Think that is a very solid album.

Come Around had some flashes of great songs, but too many misses for me, especially the last half of the album

Mechanical Bull has one of my favourite songs of theirs, Beautiful War. Also liked at least half of the songs, but again, had some very average fillers on there too.

I have listened to WALLS, but not enough to give an fair opinion on. Didn't grab me after a few listens. I will have to revisit it and give it another go

The first 3 albums didn't have a dud song on them IMO, where their last 3 albums have multiple duds on each album - all IMO obviously

I total agree with this statement. I might even classify The Black Keys rise to fame as being similar to KOL. I love the first three BKs albums, every song is great. Then they started to slide as they became more popular IMO. Some GREAT songs on the last few BKs albums too, but nothing like the early material. Same as KOL IMO.

It's strange how people discover music. They may love recent KOL or BKs thinking it's the best, and not even be aware of their early stuff. Where as I think the early stuff is the greatest and feel lukewarm on the recent material. To each their own!

I've gone back a listened to WALLS over the last few days and I do like it as a whole album better than Mechanical Bull and Come Around Sundown. It's pretty solid throughout, but lacks any real WOW songs for me. Definitely worth listening to though, and doesn't have any crappy songs like the previous 2 do

Really like Bandit, the other is so so. I think the most exciting part for me is that they used the same producer as WALLS. I really dug that album much more than the last few and I am hoping this builds off of that. Hoping for an Amazon vinyl pre order.

I need to listen to the songs more. After first listen I liked 100,000 People better. I absolutely loved WALLS so more in that vain would be great.

For me, the main change was the "sound" of the album. With Only By The Night, they obviously hit their stride commercially. In my opinion, the 2 albums were the exact same formula, trying to ride that wave. Not saying I blame them, but it was a bit redundant for me.

WALLS sounded different. Same song structure and song type for the most part, but it was less glossy and less designed for the arena pop crowds. I think the sound and the production on the album makes me enjoy it a lot more than I would have otherwise.

I was a huge fan of the first three albums then their sound got a little too u2ish and less strokesish and I think the songs lost some of their urgency/immediacy in the process. Aha Shake will always be my favorite of theirs then youth and young manhood. I have not been a fan of their more recent work really.

Listening to their first album this morning. Probably the first time in 10 years or more. What a great record! I definitely didn't appreciate it when it came out. Thought the whole 'garage rock' thing was getting a bit played out with bands like Jet showing up with the same formula. Has aged well 18 years later.

I just listened to Jet's first album the other day after not hearing it in probably 10 years. I turned to my wife and said, "Jet! Remember these guys?" Her response, "Should I?" lol
I still think their first two albums are great.

I also listed to WALLS for the first time in a few years. Solid album. I enjoy all of their albums. Some of course more than others (first three are my favorite).

I liked Jet’s first album too. Also, The Darkness’s Permission To Land album. That one is insane! Ali and I saw them live at a small club when they toured that record and I think it is still the loudest show I’ve been to. First was Velvet Revolver. I have permanent hearing damage from that one.

I will buy a Walls LP. I like that Supersoaker-album also.

Come around Sundown is amazing. For some reason I have two copies on it on vinyl. Thought I lost one. Bought a new one. Found the first. It's that good. It's a buy-a-second-copy good.
