    CALL ME A CONTRARIAN,

but I appreciate Only by the Night and everything post more than what came before when they had indie cred.

Come around Sundown is cozy and magic

  • WALLS is awesome! I think that one is my favorite of theirs. The last one was really great too, such tasty bass work!

Well I’ll go back to Come Around Sundown and work my way through from there. Here in Australia, Only by the Night was a massive album, At least 3 radio hits and they were everywhere. I remember hearing the first single or two from Come Around and was just a bit ‘over them’. Wasn’t the biggest fan of their newer ‘sound’. Maybe I was hoping for another Aha Shake Heartbreak (my personal fave). I suppose it’s like when mainstream fans wanted PJ to make another Ten or Vs.

I have the Walls vinyl. If I buy another it will be Come Around Sundown. Pyro might be my favourite KOL song
  • Bought Walls. Got it quite cheap, compared to some places that sell it for $45

Would have liked to have the Mechanical Bull album, I like that also. But will have to wait for a reissue.

    Because of the Times
    Aha
    Only By The Night
    Walls
    When you see
    Mechanical
    Youth.

Hmm. I will listen through them all again... and see how my list would be.

Top 2 will never change for me. BOTT was my number 1 for a while but honestly over the last few years Come Around jumped it.
  • Never listened to the two before WALLS. Need to check them out.

I’ve only listened to Walls and Mechanical Bull once or twice, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of When You See Yourself.
Loved the first 4 or 5 records though, not sure why they dropped off my radar. I need to do some catching up I think

I also really love the artwork on the vinyl. The warm tones just add to the overall look. It’s a great piece of work all around.

I used to love their music. First 4 albums are great. Completely lost interest after seeing them live at Jones Beach 5 years ago. Awful show. Now, I'm ready to forgive and pick up some of their vinyl. Early Vinyl box set looks tempting. Anybody in possession of that release?
  • Let's not forget they did a great cover of SWEDISH artist Robyn

Incredible! I always wished they’d release it officially.
