    "Without Covid, Trump beats Biden."

Give me a break, people. Biden led Trump in polling for well over a year prior to Covid happening. Trump had a historically low approval rating for his entire time in office. Trump losing reelection, was not difficult for rational people to predict.

Also, the Trump administration screwing up something like the Covid response was only a matter of time. He's an incompetent boob. Rational people assumed it was only a matter of time before they screwed the pooch on something like that since day 1, as well. Just so happens it took a few years longer to happen.
....and he cost the republicans the senate.

    What a “movement!”

He definitely cost them the Senate, but I still stick by if he handled Covid like 5% better he would've won.

He didn't even have to handle it well just had to pretend to care.

Sociopaths are usually better at mimicking empathy, but coming from a privileged life he has never needed to mimic to get by.

Absolutely. There's a lot of people that voted for Biden that were pleading for a reason not to. Oh well, fuck him and fuck the Republican Party with a rusty nail studded trombone. Sweeeeeeeep.

It’s really amazing to me that so many cowardly republicans are afraid of a guy who lost them the house, senate and White House over the last few years.

Trump is an historically unpopular, impeached, one term president who never once had the majority of this country support him. Lol

And today should be a circus like PA's house was a circus yesterday. But watch - a lot of these dipshits that were calling for an investigation or not certifying the elector votes all of a sudden are singing a different tune now. The Dems need to not be idiots and get all that shit on record and attack every fucking single one of these assholes until they lose their seats.

I think I’m just gonna ignore the news for the next day or so. Today shouldn’t matter. It’s just math. I’m not giving their dog and pony show my attention.

I dont think it is being afraid of Trump so much as it is the swollen amount of the Republican base who will blindly follow everything he says.

As we always say in terms of extremists in the middle east... the key to counter radicalization is education.

It isnt a sustainable model for Republicans though.  They cant keep all these balls in the air and allow the Trumps to have taken over the party.

Same here. But somebody needs to be recording those who all of a sudden are singing a new tune due to yesterday's election. Hold their feet to the fire.

if Mike Pence does something illegal (like say try to stage a bloodless oup d'état) on the floor of a joint session of congress, isn't the Sgt at Arms going to arrest his fat ass?

It's also a good time for the R's to also become supporters of a popular vote when it comes to elections, and possibly get behind Rank Choice Voting. Republicans essentially won the Senate popular vote by ~2M votes but are going to lose control of the chamber.

That is basically what I meant. They want his supporter's support and, thus, his approval.

I agree it is not sustainable. I think it is fair to say now that a large portion of Trump supporters care a lot more about Trump than they do republican ideals. Will be interesting to see how that plays out when Trump is not on the ballot in four years. Seems like a good opportunity for the dems....though, we sure know how they love screwing up good opportunities. lol

This is more or less what I was getting at yesterday when I asked what Cruz & the others' end game is in undermining the election / constitution... I don't think any of these current clowns have the 'charisma' or whatever you want to call the thing that endears people to Trump. (at least I hope...)

This is absolutely right.  The GOP base is so devoted to Trump that these people are scared they'll be primaried if they don't back Trump every time.  And they're probably right.

That's the cult.  They are so obsessed with Trump that I think they've forgotten what they even care about.  It's really amazing what a third or so of the country has become.  I never appreciated how successful someone could be simply by making people feel like "others" are at fault for their disappointments.

At this point, I'd say they care more about Trump than they do about America, their communities, the party, and even themsevles.

Yeah so it is a good opportunity for democrats to take advantage of a fractured republican party.

Also, I am not sure losing the house, senate, and the white house while never having the majority of the country support him is considered successful. It might be successful in destroying the republican party though.

Haha, I know this is a complete partisan Dem hack thing to say but this is what I know about LBJ mostly: 1) civil rights 2) balls and pants phone calls 3) Vietnam.

Those tapes are fascinating shit. No shame in hearing the POTUS be human, particularly back then. Imagine if that had leaked and been broadcast all over radio? He might have had to resign well before not running for re-election.

Now, grabbing them by the pussy is a “qualification.”

Yeah so it is a good opportunity for democrats to take advantage of a fractured republican party.

Also, I am not sure losing the house, senate, and the white house while never having the majority of the country support him is considered successful. It might be successful in destroying the republican party though.

Yeah, I should have said "how effective it can be."  It was effective in the degree of devotion generated but hopefully not in the numbers going ahead...

I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
