I saw Paul McCartney live less than 10 years ago.  It was at BC Place in Vancouver.   The show was pretty good, but only the front of the floor was standing.  Everyone else was sitting down.

Great show and great songs, but it wasn't like a PJ or Springsteen show when it feels like everyone in the vanue is on their feet rocking out.    Then again I'm usually at the front of those shows so I wouldn't notice if people were sitting in the back.  McCartney tickets were so expensive we bought 2nd row tickets on the upper deck to keep costs under control.
My experience was totally different than yours. I saw him at Barclays Center in Brooklyn in 2017 and everyone was on their feet and singing the whole time. It was amazing.

While they aren't my top three, I have to give a shout out to Iggy Pop & St Vincent.

I've only seen them once each, But Iggy & Annie Clark each owned their stages like no one I had ever seen, and had the crowd eating from the palm of their hands. It was really awesome to see as a fringe fan of each act.
Yeah I mentioned Iggy in my runners up category.
Seen him several times, always said pound for pound he has the most energy of any rocker around.
First time I saw him, Avalon in Boston, ( maybe 1989 or 1990) went with a couple co-workers who were a little older and introduced my young self to Iggy and a couple other acts. We arrived a little late, he was on stage already and performing Lust For Life. we could hear the music as we were having our tickets ripped, walked in to the main room to see him with his pants unbuttoned, shimmying his hips so the pants dropped and all he had left on were leopard print briefs. That was my first impression of live Iggy..

He is amazing. I saw him live twice. Once when he was on his own in a smallish venue. The other time was with the Stooges. Really incredible live show.

The one time I saw him was a few years ago at the Orpheum Boston, w/ Josh Hommes (spring 2016 maybe?). The dude was stage diving at the Orpheum one week removed from his 69th birthday... f'ing legend.

I wish I saw him sooner.

Pearl Jam (which is a given being the forum we are posting on)

But if I take them out, I'd go with:
Less Than Jake: Seen these guys about a dozen times, every show is fun, different, and a great time.
Collective Soul: So many hits, seen them a handful of times as well. Seem to have a loyal following similar to PJ nowadays, just in a much smaller way.
Metallica: Saw them twice. Love how whole crowd hangs on every tune.

Runners up: Green Day, Foo Fighters: both lose points for the hokey "bring a random person on stage" thing, and I only have seen Foos once, but a lot of set was slower, newer tunes.
Coldplay: Saw once, was not a fan before, but they changed my mind that night.
Paul McCartney: Cool show, but with all the old folks, people sat most of the show.
White Zombie (circa 1998) what a visual show.

Nice^^^^love that fun stuff. PJ kills me when they play a really sad tom Tom waits song as we exit. The antithesis of the high they give!!

I'd say top 3 for now
    PJ
    Primus/or anything Les does
GWAR (almost forgot about them) great family friendly show!!! Take the kids and grandma. Just wear a poncho to keep the blood stains to a minimum.

Or if you're a fan, you wear white wife beaters and get in the splatter zone.

My wife grabbed Angelo Moore's junk at a Fishbone show.

No junk grabbing, but stood right next to Norwood for an entire Fishbone show in Edmonton years ago. D.O.A. opened. At one point Angelo did a stage dive, rolled cartwheel style over the crowd to a table at the back of the club. He stood there, sang,  and and then cartwheeled back over the crowd to the front.  Literally cartwheeled over heads and upheld hands. One of the coolest stage dives I've ever seen.

Fishbone came up around the same time as Jane's Addiction and RHCP in L.A.    Always a fun time to see them perform!
