There are common concepts, sayings and objects that we take for granted that actually make little or no sense.
For example:
"A watched pot never boils."
Of course they don't. But the water does... eventually.
"Vacuum cleaners are a housekeepers best friend."
No they're not. First of all, houses are not vacuums, and secondly, vacuums are not dirty.
