    We're not a competitive band... Especially like with other bands... It's music... It's art... You can't win... We're grateful for other bands... We're certainly grateful for the bands that brought us here the first time back in 1991... We played with Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers... We're still so grateful to Flea and Anthony and Chad and now Josh... And, of course, my great great friend Jack Irons... That's how I met Stone and Jeff... Our band owes so much to that band... Literally, I owe so much to Jeff and Stone and Mike for having faith in me in the early days... And Matt for agreeing to be in our band even though I was in it... This one goes back so far I was before even met these guys or even really knew who they were... I was sitting at the edge of the bed alone a long time ago about an hour and a half south of here... ~ Eddie Vedder
