just don't play the South during the spring. wait until about May or so. because my job is a lot less flexible in the spring. If PJ plays my neck of the woods and I can't go cuz of work, I'm gonna be sick to my stomach.
and before you ask, hell yeah I'm a selfish prickeverybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -

The seats DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE STAGE IN LEVEL F are NOT side/rear stage and they were very empty!!!!!!
YOU are the douchebag!!
4 people could show up at a 15,000 seat arena and you would call it a sell out!I love my female wife...

lol. settle down, cowboy...because I noticed empty seats (in the Igloo section), does not take away my love for the band. I could really care less if pj sells out or not. Sorry, never saw that...what I saw where some northern folk saying they wouldn't play the south because of our voting patterns and that since we don't share the same views as the band, we shouldn't even like this band.

i'm not gonna hold my breath about this. if what stone said is true, great, i'll get to see my fav band again. HOWEVER, his attitude is really annoying and subtley condescending in a VERY northwest sorta way. i mean, yeah pj has earned the right to call their own shots, but to basically paint the impression that it's an inconvenience to play the South is pretty irritating. maybe the fanbase is less concentrated down here, maybe not, but WHO FREAKING CARES!?! YOU'RE IN ONE OF THE BIGGEST ROCK BANDS IN THE WORLD, SO GO PLAY SOME FUCKING SHOWS, TAKE SOME TIME OFF TO DO WHATEVER, THEN BOOT UP AND GO PLAY SOME MORE FUCKING SHOWS! using an excuse like 'we don't sell out shows much down there' in one way suggests that it only works out if one in fact does sell out, thus making pj/whoever else the max amount of $$. do i think that is the main concern of the band? hell no i don't, but whatever. it's all hearsay to me anyway, but it's pretty easy to know where they stand with most of the 'red' states. IF the band does come down here any time soon, maybe a decent suggestion would be to pick some venues that they know will have a good chance of selling out, and play more than one nite there. just trying to throw out some sort of constructive thinking, bad idea or not...0

I've been to 3 St Louis shows and they always sell-out. I saw them in Memphis as well for the Binaural tour think that was a sell-out as well. c'mon guys we support you here.the Minions0

I sent this email to the 10C today, and it basically sums up my feelings. It can also be found at http://www.staticandfeedback.com/Music/0210lett.html
To: The Ten Club; Seattle, WA
Hi, I've been a Ten Club member for a few years now, and I love the
club and what you do with tickets and merchandise.
As a resident of Georgia, I was disappointed to learn that Pearl Jam
has decided to end its "World" Tour with a second show in
Honolulu. While yes, they have covered an extensive part of the
world in the past year and a half (much of the US, Canada, Europe,
Australia, South America), they have left a few large holes, primarily
in the Southeastern United States. In March, I eagerly resubscribed
to the Ten Club in anticipation of buying several tickets to southern
shows and planning a summer road trip before my sophomore year
of college began. After the first leg was announced, I decided not to
buy tickets, thinking "Surely Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, or some
other city will be added to Leg Two." Unfortunately, that day never
came. Another US leg, a European leg, an Australian leg, and finally
two shows in Hawaii were announced, along with the "End of Pearl
Jam's 2006 World Tour." I read Stone say on an internet chat about
carbon emissions that the band was having issues because they
cannot sell out the South. Several shows did not sell out on this tour,
including shows at the LA Forum, parts of the three night stand in
San Francisco, and several European shows.
I am not mad at the band, the Ten Club, or even the event planners. I
am not as cynical as some of my fellow southern Pearl Jam fans
who believe that Pearl Jam is skipping the South because it voted
for Bush in 2004. I simply think that someone, somehow, should
explain why a large part of the US was left off a world tour in which
Honolulu, a city of less than 400,000 people, got two shows. And
why wasn't this information available before many of us "made sure
to re-up our 10C memberships" before the dates were announced?
I would love to be able to see my favorite band, with 10C seats, and
see songs from the new album, which I believe is one of their best.
But above all, I'd like to know why they felt that the South (and also
the United Kingdom, who also did not receive a proper tour)
somehow does not belong on a world tour.
Always a fan,
Matt Berry0 -

I hope they play the south...hell, I just want them to play.
But I would catch a show in Austin... in fact, make it two and I'm there for both. (-;"Holly f**k, that was so amazing, I just forgot who I came here to see!!" - Courtesy of the guy in the U2 t-shirt standing next to me in Aloha Stadium, Post PJ0 -
Nice letter. Let us know if they respond.
I'd love to see them in the South, but I don't think it's happening. I wish it were, but I'm convinced that Hawaii is the final show this time around.09/17/95 - Tad Gormley Stadium: New Orleans, LA

You are an arsehole my friend. They have been 'playing fucking shows' for the last 5 months across 3 continents. Including shows to some truly thankful and humble fans in Europe where they have not been for 6 years! Man you should have felt the love there... none of this bitterness about not forgetting us for the past however long.
You know, they played two festival gigs in the UK where I am from. I went to Reading and shared a field with 60,000 others (thats all we got - 2 festival appearances) - then to get my fix of Pearl Jam playing to their own fans in arenas I got on a fu cking plane and travelled to Spain, France and Greece. And you know what - i LOVED it.. the experience was incredible.
This is NOT all about you. If they feel that it makes no logistical sense to tour the South then that is their decision. At least they were in your country not so long ago... get on a plane and go and see them, broaden your horizons and stop giving credence to your fucking reputations as small minded, mean spirited, red necked bigots.0 -
to whoever wrote the story: props for not bugging The Stone while he was eating. I don't know if I'd have been able to restrain myself like that."I forgot the F***ing song."
