i'm convinced trump has had the virus. he thinks he is immune, so he will continue to hold these super spreader events because "well, i am not gonna get it, screw everyone else.""You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."0 -
I know more than half of America doesn't give a shit about this, but here are two examples of things that absolutely sicken me about Trump. New from the book:
1. Trump brags about saving MSB with the Khashoggi murder. It's despicable. Take a moment to read the write up from Larison, a conservative writer who I respect immensely. https://www.theamericanconservative.com/state-of-the-union/trump-boasts-that-he-saved-mohammed-bin-salman-after-the-khashoggi-murder/
2. Out today, Trump talking about his respect for Erdogan and his general affection for dictators https://www.today.com/news/bob-woodward-reveals-new-trump-tape-saying-he-gets-along-t191592
Some fucking Christian. Disgusting at every level. Please...please someone here that defends Trump...help me understand how this isn't disqualifying.0 -
Put this audio in a commercial..
"I get along very well with Erdogan, even though you're not supposed to because everyone says what a horrible guy, but for me it works out good," Trump says on the tape, played exclusively on TODAY. "It's funny, the relationships I have, the tougher and meaner they are, the better I get along with them, you ought to explain that to me some day, but maybe it's not a bad thing.

I was just thinking that this morning. One of my neighbors wears their religion on their sleeve....I'm just waiting for that tRump sign to hit their yard. Pathetic. These are the same 2A supporters that take family pictures with their guns and have a "Protected by the 2nd Amendment" sign down at their dock....like lake pirates are going to raid their home or something.mrussel1 said:I know more than half of America doesn't give a shit about this, but here are two examples of things that absolutely sicken me about Trump. Reminds me of the tRump parade this weekend in my hood. There were competing boat parades....saturday was the "I love America" non political parade and Sunday was the tRump parade.
Saturday had about 10 boats show....Sunday was about 120...Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

I recall riding the bus to work in about 2013 or so and someone got on the but wearing an "Obama Back to Back" t-shirt. And it was really striking...like, isn't that something Yankee fans bought in 1999? Be happy your guy (my guy, too) won, but it's not your sports team.cincybearcat said:I've seen people on street corners doing this lately. Once it was a group of individuals that appeared to be of mexican heritage. I wondered what the hell could be making them do that...I guess $ maybe?
There was also a trump "rally" on I-275 this weekend. Bunch of big trucks and bigger trump flags. I didn't know it was happening, but saw a big truck with a big dope and a big trump flag in a parking lot near where my daughter takes dance. The saw about it later on the news.
This weekend I also saw a lot of trump yard signs in the fringe of the suburb/rural area of where I live. Craziness. It is strange to me that so many "republicans" are willing to give up their supposedly true ideals. They are so afraid of the socialism that they are actively supporting and running towards facism.
Now, multiply each of those back-to-back Obama shirts sold by like 10,000 and you have Trump hats and shirts. We've seen popular presidents and we've seen people that were overly-devoted, but we've never seen a following that comes across this much like the most rabid college football fan base. They wear their hats and shirts, scream at the top of their lungs and care about their team. If their team loses, they go on about their lives after some disappointment. Team MAGA? The sports-like fervor has them so singularly devoted to Trump that it's no longer about issues or even socialism. The hatred of Biden is akin to Alabama's hatred of Auburn; it's myopic and doesn't really matter what Biden actually says or does. He's on the other sideline. I don't even think they're running towards fascism to avoid socialism. I think they're running towards Trump for the same reason I continue to cheer for the Vikings (as unhealthy as that is); fascism is what's waiting at the victory parade; they just don't know it.

i honestly can't possibly understand this type of person either, no matter whom they support. i can't imagine being so invested in politics that it becomes a part of my identity. i find that odd....almost frightening.OnWis97 said:

they'll go back to the shadows once trump is trounced nov 3 and the GOP realizes that type of candidate/president isn't sustainable long term and they ultimately reject that type of politics.Kat said:Does anyone have any knowledge about cult de-programming? Techniques, etc?

I don't think so. I think they are going to be blindsided (I hope) by a Biden victory. These people DO NOT pay attention to actual current events. FB is their connection to the world and it is a fucked up feed of fake memes and Qanon bullshit. They are lucky if Fox News makes its way into their feed.HughFreakingDillon said:

Right is selling “the left is evil incarnate” and morons are buying it wholesale. I’ve never seen an unflinching mindset take such a hold.....except for major sports.0

but once their leader is gone, they'll have nothing to being constantly triggered by and we won't hear from them again.Gern Blansten said:

Not nearly as big a thing as people say. I bet there are more shy Biden votes. Most Trump supporters I know won't shut the hell up about him.mrussel1 said:

The flag that has Trump holding a giant machine gun looking all Rambo-ish is so sad and so misguided and definitely not closeted at all.www.myspace.com0 -

Not the most frightening aspect, but certainly the loudest signal is how quick his catch phrases and loose ideas take root.0 -
so funny how he thinks he's such a great negotiator. he couldn't negotiate his way out of a paper bag.josevolution said:https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-negotiate-third-term-in-office-2020-9?amp
