    There are still undecided voters out there. Lots of them, enough to decide who becomes president. All this matters. I've said it from the beginning of this fiasco of an administration, ignore the Trumpers, go after the ones that stayed home last election. There are millions of them.

    This excuse is ludicrous coming from the guy who brought us such classics as Mexicans are Bringing Their Rapists Here in 2016, The Caravan Invasion of 2018, and The Joe Biden Wants to Destroy the Suburbs of 2020.

    I remember back on 9-11, it was the same excuse for Bush when he sat for 9 minutes in front of a kindergarten.

    The excuse was 'what was he supposed to do get up yelling and screaming causing panic?'

    No, but he should be Presidential and say, 'sorry kids...blah blah' and excuse himself to attend to matters at hand.

    At least that was spur of the moment.  This was a concerted effort to downplay causing widespread death.  And then downplayed for months.

    I don't think this is a big a deathnail in his presidency as you've made it out to be in your previous few posts....because it's not really new information. He's been minimizing the threat the entire time. He'll spin the audio as "not trying to cause a panic" being a positive thing (it's not, but that's how it'll be spun). And it's consistent with how he's been the entire time. "There's 15 cases, but it'll be down to zero next week." There's been millions of cases. "It will go away when the weather gets warm." It didn't. And various other examples of him minimizing it. I don't think this audio is any worse than those statements. Actually, it's better. Those statements were flat-out false and he sounded stupid saying them. Here, again from a spin-perspective, he could at least hang his red hat on not wanting to cause a panic. 

    All that said, this will be used in ads against him and could hurt him. But I don't think it's any more "devestating" than the rest of his day-to-day bullshit be used in ads against him. 
    When people look back at this race, they're gonna talk about this book and the tapes, in particular, as the pivotal moment. Just wait and see. I know they just came out, and I am speculating, but yeah, this is a pretty, pretty big deal, folks.

    Looking forward to 60 Minutes on Sunday. 
    to be fair, i think future generations are going to look at the tape of him mocking the r,disabled reporter on the campaign in 2016 and wonder how the fuck he survived that moment. the rest just adds to the astonishment.
    True. I'm specifically talking about the state of this campaign though. I think Biden's picking up momentum from this. 
    as long as he can remain coherent on his campaign stops and during the debates....which is a big if. 
    Debates will be huge, no doubt. One of the main differences between this year and 2016, other than Biden's steady lead and consistently sitting around 50% compared to HRC in the mid 40's, is how many people have already made up their minds though. 

    We may be focusing on the wrong recordings today. It may not be the covid one that seals trumps fate. 

    It might be his use of the p word this time that sinks him.


    All Biden needs to do to win the debates:

    " Y'know Don, we have many generals and military leaders watching us debate right now, who didn't get their daddy to bribe a doctor to get them a medical deferment to avoid serving America in wartime.

    I can at least understand the not-panic perspective even if I don’t agree with it.  Even if he wanted to go that route there is no excuse to belittle people for wearing masks.  The country is not going to panic if they are asked to wear masks.  He is ridiculous.
