The fact that I saw a For Rent sign on my favorite Thai Restaurant. When the restaurants first had to close down I made sure to order from them a few times to give them business. Then I noticed they closed. They never reopened. I was hoping it was temporary but the For Rent sign shattered that. I think I ordered from them at least once or twice a month for past 10 years. They had the best drunken noodles. Makes me sad 😢

I know what you mean. We’ve lost some beloved local eateries in the past few months.

That said, I’m surprised and happy that my favorite little Italian bistro I’ve been frequenting since the 90’s has somehow survived.

I have been surprised and impressed at how many local businesses here have been able to survive. I'm sure they had some tense times and maybe still do, but kudos to them all for their hard work.

Right now the weather is beautiful and the city has closed many streets to vehicle traffic and allowed the restaurants and cafes to expand their patio seating on to the street, which is great. Yesterday evening I was out running some errands and walked by a block that was full of outdoor seating for restaurants on both sides of the street, and in the middle was a jazz trio playing. A bit of the good life in the midst of this crappy situation.

I do fear for some of these places when the rain comes again, which is only a couple of months away.

We have a lot of the outdoor seating as well where they closed the streets. It is really nice. I also wonder what will happen when it starts to get cold. NYC has not yet allowed any type of indoor dining.

That really sucks they closed!  I hope the city hangs in there and can make a big comeback in 2021.  I miss going in and having a blast in NYC.

Tanker vs. car. Expressway shut down. People had to have died though no mention. Cuyahoga River caught fire. Sad, sad mess.

No, I did not take this photo. I got caught up in the traffic probably 3 miles back and was able to get re-routed. Those families though. My heart is sad.

if there is one positive out of all of this, it's how cities seem to be embracing foot/bicycle traffic more and opening up gathering spaces where cars used to reside.

it only took a pandemic for these morons to figure out this is how densely populated cities should be.

Oh goodie.  It's spin cycle time.  How fruitless is the mind going 'round and 'round, over and over the same things.

Spin cycle.  It sucks!  Don't go there, friends.

Hang in there, Brian. I know what that feels like. Is there anything you can do to distract yourself today. Maybe get lost in a good book, or work on a puzzle - something that takes a lot of concentration.

    What @GlowGirl said.

Plus, the spin cycle's not all bad. You've just got to make sure that the load is balanced. I had an ex learn that one the hard way. Ouch!
