As a poster fan, I love Brad’s “legacy” site.  The cart feature is awesome!  I think other artists should look into that customization or something like it for their respective sites. It is definitely fan friendly.  I get with the pandemic and all, the need to wait until more steady business returns before big expenditures now.  I had a Williams STL and an Ames Baltimore carted when the rug was pulled out from under me before I could complete check out.  Elation to sadness was near instantaneous.  I’m sure countless others had the same crushing experience.  Getting a show edition for STL slightly made up for the one and still hoping for a Balt show edition whenever those go up.  Just wanting something to level the playing field against “the bots” or whatever automatically carts and checks out faster than I blink.
While the carting thing is great for fans , I can’t see other artists adding it to their shops.  Brad’s posters took hours to officially sell out because people had issues with the site and checking out. And even then copies were back up for sale last evening.  And if you read Brad’s last post he was basically exhausted from the whole process.  Compare that to other artists who have sites that allow for a complete sell out in less than a minute.  Why would you trade that for a whole day of site glitches and stress?
it is always a crap shoot.... I have had sales and everything goes off fine without a hitch... and you can not stress about it, and just field the handful of customer service emails from people who are bummed they missed out. Every sale though requires some amount of time sitting there during the sale making sure it all goes fine and responding to emails. And then there are days like yesterday, where the site was given more space on a server to handle more traffic, and the site  on paper is totally fine.... then the traffic hits...and things can go wonky because: internet. It makes me think of this clip from the simpsons about how Mr. Burns has every disease and the doctor tries to describe why none of the diseases are killing him because they are all trying to get through the door at the same time, referring to is as "Three Stooges Syndrome".... I feel like that is every sale for PJ posters and tickets or any limited item where there is high demand.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI0euMFAWF8

the process is a bit exhausting because you are dealing with people's finances as well as your own and then emails come in, either from people having an issue with the site, or just asking questions about the sale or their order..you know customer service stuff.  And sale days are always a bit stressful.... but it certainly makes it way worse when the site does some unexpected thing.... for instance in the past when it won't charge shipping for orders because some code the USPS has on their site changed and your site can't talk to it anymore...so all orders have no shipping applied to them.... that's a fun time, collecting all the orders and the emails then having to send out invoices for shipping

I am mostly just surprised that it is not a standard feature on ALL sites everywhere that when you put something in your cart, it stays there...seems like once a customer carts something that removes it from the inventory and puts it in a cart.... but sites seem to be built in a way that that is obviously not the case....it doesn't make sense to me... why make a store where 500 people can all cart something that there are only 100 of, and then have them all mad dash to the finish line to see who can keep what is in their cart?  If there are only 100 of something, once someone carts one there should only be 99 left... instead of a seemingly infinite number that only gets resolved after 100 people check out.

@bradklausen I agree with you, ticketmaster carts tickets.  If there is a cart timer it helps, thats how I scored a bridge school print hours after they dropped way back when.

They possibly made more prints for MSG thinking it's NYC, they had a planned pop up shop with the gigaton prints, etc.

I think there are a lot of these posters to be sold..... 10C allotment + what was to be at each venue.
I happened to check the Pearl jam instagram feed a couple weeks ago and saw the posters were being released. I think many fans don't care, or are unaware.

I wonder if they have since printed some extras? Realistically, what other merch revenue stream does the band have right now? Why not move a few more than usual, especially if they think certain posters (NYC, Baltimore) would sell out fast? Obviously you have to weigh the cost of ending up with unsold inventory, however, it wouldn't shock me if they printed more than usual given Pearl Jam fans' demand for everything merch-related.

Knowing how early these had to be printed because of the screen printing process, it's doubtful they went back and ran off extras. Selling prints to shows that never happened is a gamble to begin with. Also, if they were concerned about revenue they'd open the sales up to anyone and not just 10C members instead of letting them sit in the shop.

That's my guess as well. Maybe not as many as the stadium shows, but knowing that there were 2 posters printed up for NYC (and an artist variant) there had to have been many more NY posters (and Merch) than anywhere else to sustain 2+ days of sales.

Tell that to anyone who waited every day to try and get the Ames Central Park print.

If you are on any social media with any Pearl Jam following you've seen they've been on sale. The fact that the APs have sold out so quickly across the board shows people know about them. I've seen tons, and tons of posts on different platforms about them.

That said, there is just going to be way different demand than at the show. Many people get posters only of shows they've been to. But that's going to go down with this because even though they might have had tickets the show didn't actually happen so they don't want to spend the money. There is such demand at shows that resellers do their best to swipe as many as they can too, limiting what is available. That obviously isn't happening here either.

People will buy them because of the uniqueness of the situation and there will be a good deal that will want them because of that plus they had tickets to the show, myself included. But it's going to take a while for these to sell out, and some won't sell out at all. Do think it is interesting St. Louis sold out in less than a day and everything else is still around.

So why were there so few St. Louis posters?    That is the one I really really wanted and before I knew what was going on I learned that they had come and gone.    :(

No one knows how many there were.  It took hours to sell out, and now the Ian Williams NYC is sold out.
