I read that they voted on that list in December. Mahomes was working his way back from injury at that point. If the vote was done after the season, of course he'd be number one. He led THREE double-digit comebacks in the playoffs.

I can't blame the players if they voted Jackson. He had a historic season, really nothing we had seen in the NFL.
