Allowing police intervention when people are burning, spray painting, and damaging buildings/ businesses as well as tearing down statues and monuments (excluding Confederate figures) is different than breaking up protests protected by the First Amendment.  Telling law enforcement to stand down while these crimes take place will only perpetuate the problem.
Is that what the Portland mayor was doing last night when he was gassed?
Oh, because of that all the damage and nonsense is ok!!!!

Please, the moment leaders started painting their own streets they gave license to all these vandals to do what they continue to do.  All in an effort to own the other side. Sounds just like the dipshit everyone here says they hate but seem to like the actions when taken by others against him.
Please don't equate me with the "dipshit." Not even close. Thank you.
Ummm what? I was comparing those “leaders” more concerned with owning trump then leading.

I don't follow AOC and had never heard of Yoho before this incident, so I checked her Twitter to get a first hand take of her "craziness" as described by some here. Definitely not bad like some have referenced. She even asks media to correct inaccurate reporting, both about her and Yoho. She's definitely outspoken, but I didn't see anything even close to Trump level postings. A lot of assumptions being made in this thread.

She is the new target of hate by the right.

Crazy that she looks out for her constituents, has worked as a bar tender and waitress, blue collar you might say, took on an entrenched member of Congress, won the primary and general and went to Congress and dares to think of a different future and speak up and out and challenge the white power brokers. Absolutely insane, what the hell has happened to this country? She’s one of 435 but BOO! Or is it boo hoo hoo? The repubs and their Deplorables can’t stand it. Can’t. Stand. It.

I’m not sure anyone here is a raving fan. Like some though, I question the vilification and hatred exhibited toward her. She’s kicked ass to get where she is and is idealistic, wow. Who would you and your lib friends rather have represent you? AOC or Matt Gets?

As I know many liberals and many on the left who hated Hilary.

There are legit reasons to dislike both, but the hate and vitriol started on her early from the right and it ends up seeping into the people on the left.

    sad really.

👋 did someone say raving fan?  Yep of her and the entire squad.  We need more young women with great ideas To help us get out of this downward slide we’ve been in since the days of Nixon.

I think the Republicans love her. She's an easy target. She says a lot of stuff that Pelosi or other party "leaders" would never say, and then the Republicans or Hannity or whoever will attribute what AOC says to the entire democratic party.

So ridiculous. They don’t like her because she’s a Socialist Dem. Same like you dislike anyone in the other party. I can’t stand her because I don’t agree with her socialistic views and her vilifying anyone who’s successful in life. I live in NY so I have to deal with the consequences of her views. Liking her just because the right (and middle dems) hate her is immature.

I think the right is happy to have her there.  It offers a target, a boogeyman.  It's preferable to someone low key that votes the same way.  The left is happy to have Gomert in congress as well, as he similarly puts a target on his back.

Well since you made your response personal I'll respond politely, and in a mature manner, by saying I like her because of what stands for and what she stands against. I like that she upsets the "status quo". I'm successful in life and I don't feel for one moment that she vilifies me.
And I certainly don't like and admire her because others hate her. That would make me more like a supporter of the current so-called president.

As for liking or not liking anyone in the "other" party....as long as people continue to support and vote for a lying narcissistic racist xenophobe I'll continue to offer my opinion and disdain for them.

When you support a racist in any way shape or form including voting that makes you a racist as well.

Her speech did highlight major concern on mine with her thoughts and beliefs. She said she goes to work in Congress to make sure her constituents have a roof over their heads.  Government providing.  Everything.

Forced to resign?  hmmm, cancel culture back at it again.  NO wonder we can never have any real discussions.

    1) Statement made
    2) Anti-statement people calling for firing
    3) Pro-statement people defending and ignoring the potential issues of said statement
    4) Statement maker is either fired or apologizes...no discussion to be had.

You want to have a discussion with someone who wags their finger in your face and calls you a “fucking bitch,” and then doesn’t apologize? Fired? The dick was elected and will probably get re-elected. Remember Arizona Governor Jan Brewer wagging her finger in Obama’s face? Imagine a dem doing that to Team Trump Treason. Yea, I’d be eager to have a “discussion” with these deplorables.
