Going to concerts and sporting events will be last among the things to resume in society. Concert venues will need financial help in the meantime, either through government assistance, or concertgoers. Are you implying that I haven't been doing so already? What gives you that idea? You are incorrect, disbanding does not mean there will be no police. Please do your own research instead of relying on those of us on a PJ forum to educate you on the topic. 1 example is Camden, NJ where homicides dropped dramatically after the police were disbanded.disilluzion said:

"Defund" or "disband" mean the same thing. It does not mean, as your comment implies, that Minneapolis will be an unpoliced city. It typically means a new police organization will be created. No one is suggesting that this move means there will be no police. Not sure where that came from.

Whoa...easy there tiger. I just made a general comment about what people could do during these times. It wasn’t directed negatively towards anybody.disilluzion said:

It does if they do not replace them. And what research would you like me to do, considering that this just happened last night and no one (as of my post) knows what's going to happen? Just b/c Camden disbanded and then rebuilt from the ground up doesn't mean that Mpls. will. Maybe it's better to talk to fellow level-headed Minnesotans than try and sort through all the fake news that's out there? If it's that much of a bother to reply to me, go ahead and block me and you'll never have to again.cottagesteeze said:

Defund means to divert money into other agencies. Disband means cease to exist. Far from the same thing. It could mean what I imply, we simply don't know yet. Or maybe they do know now, as I haven't checked the news in a while. It came from people shouting they don't want police in their city anymore, followed by said disbanding of the MPD, with them stating it was too late for reform.vant0037 said:disilluzion said:

Still not accurate. Disband literally means to disband the current organization. Defund is part of that process. Your stated implication that Minneapolis will not be safe for a show because there is not a police force is incorrect.disilluzion said:

It’s worth reading what the council actually said. No one, save for some corners of politics and politicians who would rather blow a dog whistle than actually think this through, is suggesting that there will simply be no police.vant0037 said:
