    Not a KOL fan sorry.

I agree. They're shit. I think some of their fans only like them because Pearl Jam love them! **runs** :D

I had never heard any of their music until I watched my first show of PJ in 2006, and thats when I got into them :)

I like that their sound is different, and its kinda sexy music, you know?
Cant say I dig their tight jeans look though

I love being introduced to new music and am prepared to give anything a chance.....when I found out KOL were supporting PJ, I'd heard of them, but had only heard 1 of their songs. I tried listening to their stuff to see if I liked them.....and NOT because PJ liked them....it was because as I said, it was just how I was introduced to them....BUT no...have never been able to get into them.

I agree with you..and I've said it here before.....I think there are a few (not anyone in this thread) that claim to love KOL just because PJ love them.

Liam Finn is an example for me.....I got into him after reading all the reviews from when he supported Ed. Thank goodness, because he is now one of my FAVORITE artists - fantastic album and one of the best live acts I've ever seen........but the fact that I like LF's music has nothing to do with the fact that Ed likes him.
I really hope Liam and EJ support PJ when they tour here, so that more Aussies can discover his music :)

Mate! What is the problem with US Ebayers posting to Australia?

I finally won a poster I've been chasing, last night....anyhoo, I thought I'd contacted this guy asking if he'd posy to Aus.....I'd contacted a heap and they all said yes....anyway....I mustn't have contacted this guy (my bad) and now he's e-mailed me saying:

    "hey there.

the auction was not for international buyers. i'm not sure how to take care of this as i don't really feel comfortable shipping to australia nor do i know how much to charge you for postage."

WTF!!! What's so fucken hard about it....no difference dickhead....just pack it, put MY addy on it and find out postage (which will be $25)
I was a little more polite in my reply to him :D

I just got 2 posters of Expressobeans that i was chasing, the same guy was selling both, and he charged $30 for shipping from the US, which i thought was a little steep, but then again, he didn't charge any extra to pay for the paypal fees which others have.
It was 2 posters that i wanted, and the price was right. Still thinking of buying another copy of one as there is a signed and numbered AP going cheap on ebay... gotta think about that one

the first (of 2) times i saw PJ play with them was at Nijmegen last year.
I have been into their stuff since they hit the scene.

it would have been good to do the oz tour and see them together more, but the same set by the same opener for 10 shows cold get a bit tedious

they're not much of a live act, especially when youve got them playing before PJ, i mean, theres no comparison is there?

Caleb has said before that they're there to play the music and they want to be known for their music, thats why hes not much of a talker on stage....hes just the music man :)

ahh but see live is half the deal - if you dont have charisma on stage what do you have?? anyone can sound good in the studio

i saw wolfmother last year - everyone raving about the amazing sound they had - the poor singer just stood there looking like he's rather stand behind a rock ... no talking, no stories about the songs, nothing.

if i want to hear a tune, i put on a cd - when i see someone live i expect to be entertained from all angles, sound, sight, god forbid smell :o - but the whole package

you obviously didn't see the chili peppers? apparantly anthony keidis said nothing.... some great bands say nothing :)

and wolfmother rocked it out.... you didn't see their solo gig... and you werent in front of the speaker stack at live earth trying to muscle your way back to the front :p

no, i was already at the front, smack bang in front of said unfortunate singer

and yea, i heard ant is abysmal live - probably half the reason ive never shelled out for them. perhaps they got too caught up in their own hype??? i dont know

ill argue it all day - anyone can be made sound good in the studio. sure, words is a third of a song, music is the next, but if you cant pull those lyrics and tune off to people watching it, taking it in, watching you pour out your energy, then your not the whole shebang are you. you dont measure up.

I disagree.... maybe look to Flea... he's giving it his all... the music too.. i'm ure it's just Anthony and his singing live...

Well Wolfmother must have improved HUGELY.
I love their album, but saw one of their concerts on TV and OMG!! It was THE most painful thing I'd ever witnessed!! They were going off all over the stage....but his singing was disgraceful!! I felt embarrassed for him......and it actually put me right off the album :(

I agree....don't care if they just stand there and perform (if they're entertaining as well- that's a big bonus) I'd rather them do nothing and nail the songs, than jump around and sound shit.... they have to sound good.......and when I say that...I don't mean sound like the album....make it live, but sound good. From live footage I've seen of RHCP, Anthony can't sing live for shit!

Aren't we spoilt with PJ! :D they're the WHOLE pacckage when it comes to live performance!!! So many bands could learn a LOT from them!

i think flea is one of those rare little souls that have so much talent and energy he wouldnt know how to keep it locked in even if he tried. and the music is good - earlier far better, but good nontheless.

but one person does not a band make, and good songs are better done well infront of a crowd - a band will feed off a crowd every bit as much as we are blown away by them ... if they are doing their job properly.

if you dont want to talk, then dont ... sing, play, whatever. but enjoy it, get off on it, put yourself in your little bubble and forget anyone else is there but you. that has energy. its great to see. dont stand there going thru the motions and singing the words and count down the minutes till your set finishes. or dont get up there in the first place

This is true, and I think its absolutely mind blowing that PJ have been playing for soooo many years and toured sooooo much, that they still look like theyre having the time of their lives....its so awesome :D

On the other hand, I think the majority of bands would be there because they like doing it, even if they dont speak much or show alot of personality, they are up there for a reason... :)

Yes, Kylie, we are incredibly spoilt with PJ, and I hope they keep playing til theyre 90.... :o

I watched a video of them a few years ago, and there was all this spagetti falling out of the sky onto the drum kit....wasnt it the Foo'eys that pulled that prank?

Prolly the most exciting part of the set unfortunately...

y'know apparently when ed first started singing he'd stand with his back to the audience because he was so shy ... or the whole helmet saga ...

but apart form the music, and the lyrics, watching pj live is such a trip. they have songs that sound better live. and even tho it's sometimes like hearing your dear old dad starting up after a few beers at xmas, who doesnt enjoy an eddie rant :)
is the live side why they've outlasted so many others in their era?? the amazing fanbase ... we keep getting thrown such amazing shows?? i guess they will stop one day , then we'll have to wait for the reunion tour. or maybe they'll be like the stones and just keep on going -
*imagining mike with a face like death valley ... or a grey eddie trying to dance* :D

After seeing Slane Castle I couldnt wait to see RHCP live......
What a disappointment when I did....row 9 at Syd Music Bowl Melb seats were amazing but AK was pretty bad. I dont even want to think about that concert.................It was a very shattering experience, One I would rather forget... :(

I couldnt complain about Foos at all, even if there shows are nearly all the same.............they get the crowd going and have fun what more could ya ask for...

We are very spoilt with how PJ mix there shows up...:)

Suz.....I've been waiting for this auction to finish

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330255617883&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014

I like this blue version...but it's not on espressobeans so not sure what it's worth going up to??
The brown version goes pretty high (average $140, up to $175).
Have you got any idea what's a fair price for this one???

OR if you're there, Jim......any idea??

I would be guessing but I would say the blue would sell more than the brown one............there wouldve been less blue ones printed.
If u look at Melb 2 and 3 in the pinky variant that sells for heaps more than the other colour..
The one u are looking at now is very cheap atm

What poster did u get last night??

Are u renovating your house atm?

    Sorry for all the questions..:)

    OK thanx for that :)

no worries with the Q's :D ask away :D

The poster I got last night is nothing spesh....just one I like

Ummm? We're just doing a heap of stuff around the house, that we've been meaning to do for a while - new carpet, new blinds, new taps n shower in our bathroom, finishing painting that I started last year but didn't finish cuz I hurt my back and then never got back into it, new solahart....and just a heap of other boring maintainance stuff.

We want to get the house all done, in case when we move, we decide to rent it out or for when we eventually sell it.
It's just easier to do while we're still living here, rather than having to spend holiday time here, doing it :)
