Used to get it more often in the right ear, noticeable when it's dead quiet or in bed.
But since I've had a procedure done I think it's gone.
I wear plugs every concert now and no longer get that ringing afterwards.
I'd rather look like a dork and wear them so I can enjoy sound for life.
I'm really interested in this procedure that was done to you...How was it? Where did you go? and most importantly (if you don't mind answering), how much did it cost you?0 -
I am so used to the ringing in my ears I forget about it. I've had it for so long I've forgotton what silence sounds like. Mine sounds kinda like a fridge humming. My fathers side of the family all have hearing problems and start to loose their hearing slowly from about 40 so looks like the volume dial is just going to keep going up.
I also have problems with hearing things from certain angles like if someone speaks to me from behind or when there are too many different noises at once like the TV on the kids playing and the partner speaking, everything all just blends togetherall you need is love, love is all you need0 -

The company I mentioned above, Etymotic Research:

They reduce the db level, but you still get all the frequencies. $12 per pair, reusable - I get a few new pairs a year.
I use these ones that are designed for listening to music ... similar idea etymotic ones

Thank you both for the info. I'm gonna try to make sure I get a set before the next rock show. :thumbup:I carried a watermelon0 -
So back in mid April one night i was watching tv and heard this weird sound by my ear. I didn't feel or see anything though but I could definitely hear it. It only happened a few times and lasted a few seconds so didn't really think anything of it.Then a few nights later I woke up, laid in bed for awhile. Decided to get up and out to feed my cat and giver her her insulin. Took a few steps then started to black out. Grabbed onto a a door frame,my left foot gave way and i fell flat on my face onto the carpeted floor. Laid there for a few seconds then i realized my nose was bleed profusely. Gathered my senses and went to the bathroom to stop the bleeding and tried to clean my carpet. Nice rug burn on my face if that's possible. Some people thought it was vertigo, low blood sugar or just getting out of bed too soon (which i felt it was since I never had vertigo and my blood sugar i thought was good and I never had that happen to me before.Few days after that incident I recalled the weird sound i heard by my ear and thought they could be related. I thought it actually might be a bug. Then a few weeks ago my ears started ringing non-stop. Hoping it would go away they didn't. Thought it all tied in together and honestly thought there was a bug in my ear. It wasn't too bad but noticeable especially if there wasn't any sound around.Yesterday went to the doctors to have them check it out. Luckily it was mainly just wax build up in deep down my ears. I do clean them with q-tips but mainly just the outside cause don't want to damage my ear drum or anything. She suggested to take some ibuprofen for the pain and if it doesn't get better see an ear nose throat doctor next week. It's gone down some but it's still there.I did google them and there are exercises for it on youtube to treat it. will have to check them out later.

I'm glad that you went to get that checked out.
Tinnitus here. 🖐
I believe it started when I had a terrible ear infection and a bulge on my eardrum when I was in the 6th grade. Plenty of years of concerts minus earplugs added to it. (I wear them now.) So loud that I keep the TV on at night to sleep.
It's something I have had most of my life, but it is a huge annoyance.2014: Cincinnati

I got it from a very bad sinus infection that eventually spread to my inner ear. I believe this was around my junior or senior year in college. For the first couple years, I could never seem to shake my focus away from it. I heard it ALL the time. The worst was sleeping, which began my routine of using white noise like fans and air conditioners to drown out the sound. Even then I had trouble. I'm 43 now, have dealt with it for basically half my life and don't really notice it much anymore except in really quiet situations. It's still there, and if I concentrate on it, it gets amplified, but I'm at least able to not let it bother me most of the time.Like many here, I'm sure the years of concerts with no ear protection haven't done my eardrums any favors.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

yeah guess years of concerts hasn't helped me either. I Should invest in some earplugs for future shows i guess.

I’ve had tinnitus for 2 years now. Never took enough care obviously.
I’ve bought earplugs and headphones for the tour. I can’t mess my ears up even more.0 -
