OMG YESS!!!! If I were single and no kids, Sydney would be in serious trouble!!!! So would Brissy and the Gold Coast :D

That's why I'm looking forward to leaving Sydney and moving up to the north coast. I love Brissie and the Gold Coast and they'll only be a few hours away plus it's sunny nearly all the time so I won't have to whinge about the weather. :)

Yeah Byron Bay is just a big tourist destination now and sooo expensive. Went there in February and the main street was like Pitt Street in Sydney.

We bought an acre of land near Yamba and have built a house on it for under $300k. You could never do that in Byron now.

What!! You couldn't do that anywhere could you?? WOW!! Bargain!

WA is soooo expensive....last I heard, it's the most expensive state as far as real estate goes :( We'll be laughing when we sell, but if we decide to buy in WA.....yeah :(
I'm 99% sure I'll be moving to QLD anyway :)

if i was going to north coast it again, i think id pick lennox head - beautiful, laid back bliss.

if it was qld, it'd probably be yepoon.

but remember - your not leaving the rain behind ... if anything, your going to get more of it

Apparently real estate in Lennox Head is expensive now too.

Yeah I know it rains a lot up there too.. but it's always warmer and when it rains it doesn't seem to hang around for weeks like it does in Sydney.

Yeah at least up that way the rain comes all at once....not just constantly every day. I bet the end of the year can't come soon enough for you.

You're right .. you can hardly do that anywhere in Australia now. That's whats good about it. We're still going to be close to beaches and there is a hospital nearby if we need it. Also if we get bored and want a bit of fun and glamour the Gold Coast or Byron Bay is not that far away.

Why are you moving to Qld? Where is Glenn working now?

That's what we get here in Winter....flooded out for 2-3 days and then a week or so of nice sunny days. I'd much rather that, than rain every single grey gloomy day....makes the yucky days bearable.

Glenn's living and working in Townsville, so I'll either move to Townsville or the Gold Coast...still waiting to get all the nitty gritty details, before I decide where.

That's right. We were up there in February and it bucketed down rain for three days straight, then after that it was gorgeous sunny weather. I'm sick of Sydney and keep getting sick all the time.

We might be moving up there at the end of August now. Dallas has to resign from his job first.. so we'll see what happens. :)

Sounds good. I thought Glenn's job in Townsville fell through?

Yeah that was a little while back....to cut a long LONG story short....the guy (from BHP) that caused all the shit, got in a heap of trouble for it and BHP ended up begging them (The company Glenn works for) to continue working there.....so after playing hard to get, it worked out VERY good for them and they've got (prolly) years of work there :)

Townsville is just too far away from everything as far as I'm concerned and the humidity much worse than South QLD.....I've got lot's of great mates on the GC. It was actually them and Glenn that suggested I move there. Like Glenn poited out.....we won't see him much during the week cuz he works long hours and pretty much goes home, eats etc and crashes. So if we lived on the GC he'd just fly there each weekend.
