Thankfully my member of the US House, the Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, just sent me an email letting me know that I can go from not having health insurance at all, to being able to take advantage of a special enrollment period to sign up for health insurance that doesn't kick in until my 6 thousand dollar deductible has been met.

It's funny because I have a couple freak Hard-R's at my work who would support a lump of dog shit if it was a registered Republican.Gern Blansten said:So the stock market is back to where it was when president shithead took office....
I tried telling them that markets are basically nonpartisan and are mostly not moved by who the president is - they then tried to espouse some nonsense at me. So if they truly live by the scoreboard mentality and want to accept all the positive movements during his term, then they've got to accept this, too. Fucking idiots.0 -

Personal time off work for sick leave
Parental leave and affordable child care

There is the Trump that is the puppet of the Republican establishment....the boring head down read every word like it's the last thing he wants to be doing, actual correct grammar press releases and tweets you know shit for brains didn't write version.....which is evil because it makes it out like he/they actually give a fuck about anyone, and certainly those with the audacity to have dissenting views when it's all just a veil to keep pushing this country as far right as possible....
And there is the off the cuff, really saying what he thinks, Trump rally Trump....which is evil cause, ya know, it's him just flat out saying he doesn't give a fuck about 2/3's of the country and how they are all just socialist/communist do nothing fake news liberal losers.
Both are toxic and are destroying this country.'I know I was born and I know that I'll die, the in between is mine.'0 -

When airlines were a regulated industry, the price per ticket was substantially higher in adjusted dollars than today. I don't agree with your statement. There is no fundamental need to travel by air.CM189191 said:

Isn't clean drinking water already managed at the city/county/state level? It is everywhere I've ever lived.0 -

When airlines were initally subsidized, it was because it was viewed as an essential industry. But needed investment because the costs were too high for industry to take on that risk. See also: Federal Aid Highway Act
Airline industry continues to be subsidized, keeping ticket prices down, as you stated, in the form of the....wait for it....the Essential Air Service Program

If there is no fundamental need to travel by air, then there's no need to bail out or continue to subsidize the airline industry either.

From American Conservative
.. https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/coronavirus-donald-trump-dear-leader/At the moment of unprecedented peril for the United States, Donald Trump is choking, and none of Mike Pence’s sycophantic “Dear Leader” encomia can hide that fact.
Here’s why that made me strangely sad, more than angry. I thought: This man is a symbol of America’s shadow side: bloated, vain, rich, incompetent, and impotent. In a word, decadent.

The airlines could use some real regulation... A flight should be a flight... damn flights should not cost 10X more because it's this week..The damn seat is empty! Can you imagine anything else priced like flights? You pay $100 for that orange, but the guy behind you pays $10... Then tomorrow it might be .25 or $1000 or $5 Who knows!!!... -- no freaking logic.mrussel1 said:

Why not a public air system??? I'm sure someone said that about trains and buses in the past. Guessing someone else said, "There's no fundamental need to travel by train"Post edited by myoung321 on"The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera." - Yusuf Karsh
