Thankfully my member of the US House, the Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, just sent me an email letting me know that I can go from not having health insurance at all, to being able to take advantage of a special enrollment period to sign up for health insurance that doesn't kick in until my 6 thousand dollar deductible has been met.

It's funny because I have a couple freak Hard-R's at my work who would support a lump of dog shit if it was a registered Republican. 

I tried telling them that markets are basically nonpartisan and are mostly not moved by who the president is - they then tried to espouse some nonsense at me. So if they truly live by the scoreboard mentality and want to accept all the positive movements during his term, then they've got to accept this, too. Fucking idiots.

Parental leave and affordable child care

Internet service as a public utility
Airline service as public mass transit
Clean drinking water as a public resource

Am I missing anything that we can do to protect fellow citizens (that doesn't involve throwing money at making the rich richer)?

When airlines were a regulated industry, the price per ticket was substantially higher in adjusted dollars than today.  I don't agree with your statement.  There is no fundamental need to travel by air.  

Isn't clean drinking water already managed at the city/county/state level?  It is everywhere I've ever lived.

The airlines could use some real regulation... A flight should be a flight... damn flights should not cost 10X more because it's this week..The damn seat is empty!   Can you imagine anything else priced like flights?  You pay $100 for that orange, but the guy behind you pays $10... Then tomorrow it might be .25 or $1000 or $5  Who knows!!!...  -- no freaking logic.  

Why not a public air system??? I'm sure someone said that about trains and buses in the past. Guessing someone else said, "There's no fundamental need to travel by train"
