Nope, but grew up a Reds fan on VT. The farm team local to us was a AA affiliate of the Reds. (Larkin, Kal Daniels, paul O'Neill, Chris sabo....jacl Armstrong....bunch of guys.)mickeyrat said:

If you asked me 10 years ago if either of these teams would win another championship, I would have told you hell would freeze over first.  Now both have won in the past 5 years.  Take me now, I have seen it all.
I've lived through super bowls, Stanley cup championships, NCAA championships, and a single world series title....the Reds winning in 1990 when I was in high school.
That is the one I want to experience again, the most. If they make it to the WS, I am there for at least one game for sure.
So much fun to be a fan and get the W. Congratulations
Loved them.ok. makes sense. Our AAA club used to be Yankee affiliated. Now it's for the Indians.Which is kinda fucked up now that I think about it. We are the Columbus Clippers. As in the ships, that brought the Europeans that decimated the Natives......Post edited by mickeyrat on_____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

in a weird way waiting so long makes the titles feel even greater. When the Phillies finally broke the Philadelphia 25 year drought and when the Eagles won their first man i wouldn't trade those memories and moments for anything. those 1st ones are just more cherished i think. want more and more for sure, but those first when you are old enough to appreciate them can't be beat.cdthomas1981 said:

My wife and I moved out of the KC/Lawrence area at the very end of 2010. It's interesting seeing how your teams are viewed in a different vacuum once you're outside of your hometown. One thing I wish I could have done was gone to both of the parades for each team. It was too difficult for me to work out given my circumstances. I'm very happy for those who got to go and to see the city turn out the way it did. Pro championships really are an invigorating thing for a city. It makes me homesick sometimes.pjhawks said:

I know exactly how you feel man! From 2010-2016 I got 3 Stanley Cups and a World Series from two teams with the longest championship droughts in their respective sports. Now they both suck ass again, but man times have been good as of late. Thank god I'm not a Bears or Bulls fan.cdthomas1981 said:

That's awesome! Such an awesome feeling to see your favorite team win it all. I grew up watching the 90's Bulls winning 6, saw the White Sox do it 2005 and the Hawks win 3 in the last decade. Now I just need the Bears to win a super bowl ( I was 3 when the 85 Bears won so I don't count it.) and my experience as a sports fan will be complete.....but right now I have that same hell freezing over feeling like you had 10 years ago. Maybe one day...0 -

Well I guess even the coronavirus won't stop NFL free agency. It's actually kinda nice to read about something other than the virus for a bit here. And why the hell would the Texans trade DeAndre Hopkins?!?!? He's the best WR in the NFL and only 27....crazy!0

Holy shit. Niners trade Buckner to colts. Lock up Armstead.
So....they lose Buckner but gain #13 pick in the draft and about $12MM in cap space.
Very interesting. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
As a Colts fan, I totally approve of the Hopkins trade. Marvelous move by the Texan's front office!
Maybe the Colts can get JJ Watt for a snow shovel ...Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

didn't see that one coming. I see this as a win for the Colts. This is the part of the draft that mystifies me ... when a GM will take a young proven all-pro and trade him for a medicre chance of drafting a player that hopefully will be as good as the player you just traded for in a few years ... doesn't make sense to me. Or Niners know something about Buckner the Colts don't know ...Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0
