I am looking for 1 MSG ticket.  I struck out in all 3 sales.  I sold my 10C spare for less than face value for MSG 2 2010.  I sold my 10C spare for less than face value for MSG TOTD.  I sold my WASTE fanclub Radiohead GA spare for less than face value for MSG 2016.  I'm looking for some help.  ISO 1 ticket - anywhere in the building.  C'mon karma!

The current Madison Square Garden Complex, located between 31st and 33rd Streets and 7th and 8th Avenues on Manhattan’s West Side, opened on February 11, 1968 with a salute to the U.S.O. hosted by Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. From a structural standpoint, the Arena was considered an engineering marvel for its time, including its famous circular shape and unique, cable-supported ceiling, which contributes to its intimate feel. In October 2013, The World’s Most Famous Arena became the world’s most state-of-the-art with the completion of a 3-year, top-to-bottom transformation, ensuring that Madison Square Garden will continue to be the site of historic, unforgettable live experiences for generations to come.

In 1988, Madison Square Garden chose the March 3 concert by Michael Jackson as the greatest concert ever held at the venue.

Due to Madison Square Garden’s busy schedule, they often have multiple shows or events in the same day, making efficiency key to running a smooth operation at the venue. This is especially the case in the winter when both the New York Knicks and New York Rangers call the arena home for basketball and hockey respectively.

To make the quick transition from ice to floor, or floor to ice, the ice is kept underneath the basketball court, or stage, and covered with an insulated top to keep it cool during an event or basketball game. When the venue calls for ice, they just remove the court, or stage, and the insulation to reveal the underlying floor of ice. The crew sprays thin layers of water on the 17,000-square-foot surface of the rink, which is chilled by pipes in the concrete, to create the ice. They also hand paint the blue zone lines and red face-off circles. This process happens once a year in September usually takes twenty hours. The transition from ice to court usually takes just two hours.

John Lennon’s final concert appearance was at Madison Square Garden, just before his murder in 1980.

Justin Bieber claims the record for selling out Madison Square Garden the fastest of any artist. Two shows for his 2012 Believe tour sold out in 30 seconds.  The prior fastest sellout record was Taylor Swift in 2009, when she sold out the venue in 60 seconds.

In January 2014, Billy Joel became Madison Square Garden’s first-ever music franchise. Through this unprecedented MSG residency, “the Piano Man” entertains sold-out crowds of fans with one concert each month. In July 2015, Joel played his 65th show at MSG—setting a new record for the most performances by any artist at The Garden.

It was his final concert appearance but it happened  in 1974 (around 6 years before his tragic death). Good luck with your ticket!

    It happens!

And i cant believe anyone would pick a Michael Jackson show as the greatest MSG show! I can think of a ton of shows that have a better case  (Led Zeppelin' '70, 73, '75;  Pink Floyd '77; The Who's run in 1974 or '76; The Stones in 1969 or 72; a ton of Springsteen and Grateful Dead shows;  George Harrison concert for Bangladesh;  Bob Dylan's 30th Anniversary; David Bowie's 50th Birthday; or anytime Pearl Jam has been there!)

Madison Square Garden has hosted some of the biggest benefit concerts in history, including “The Concert for Bangladesh,” which was the first benefit concert of its kind, “The Concert for New York City” following the events of 9/11 and “From the Big Apple to the Big Easy: New York City’s Concert for the Gulf Coast” following Hurricane Katrina. But the largest event of all was “12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief,” which raised $50 million for the cause.

    Hope you score a ticket!

Led Zeppelin's concert from February 12, 1975 at MSG is an excellent bootleg. The version I found online is a great soundboard recording called "The Flying Circus". Robert mentions how beautiful the city looks in the snow at one point during the show.

You know, you're overlooking perhaps one of the best MSG-related episodes ever.

Kramer: Don't you see? There's always been something very strange about Jerry, always so clean and organized. Do I have to spell it out for you? The limo?  The name? The rally at Madison Square Garden? Jerry, O'Brien are the same person. Jerry is the leader of the Aryan Union!

During Judas Priest’s 1984 tour performance, the audience ripped apart the foam seats and threw them onstage, causing over a quarter of a million dollars in damage to the venue. The group were banned from performing there again.

MSG wasn’t directly named after the 4th President, James Madison.  It adopted the name of the Madison Square, a park located between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue at 23rd Street – the location of MSG’s first structure.
