I’m lucky enough to live near the Toronto venue so it’s been real easy to bike down and grab a poster then drop it off at home. I have to to experience a lineup more than 5-10 people doing this.
    Barrie, Ontario (August 05, 1992); Toronto, Ontario (August 18, 1993); Toronto, Ontario (October 05, 2000); Buffalo, New York (May 02, 2003); Toronto, Ontario (May 09, 2006); Toronto, Ontario (May 10, 2006); Toronto, Ontario (August 21, 2009); Buffalo, New York (May 10, 2010); Toronto, Ontario (September 11, 2011); Toronto, Ontario (September 12, 2011); Toronto 1 (May 10, 2016); Toronto 2 (May 12, 2016); Ottawa (September 3, 2022); Hamilton (September 6, 2022); Toronto (September 8, 2022)

Is this a US thing? Because I’ve never had issues getting posters at the Canadian shows without lining up early or whatever. I remember getting to the Hamilton show long after doors in 2011 and the merch stand outside the venue still had plenty.

They should add a poster option when you put in for 10C tickets , just like they did for ticket stubs this time.
One per 10C account - only downfall is you agreeing to buy the poster without seeing it
I wholeheartedly agree. Save the BS merch line madness and actually enjoy the day of the show, plus be guaranteed your poster! I don’t mind if the poster is ugly, if I’m there, it’s my one momento that I’ll keep from the show for years

Mystery boxes in May and pray for good ones. That's my permanent strategy. Landed all home shows gear last year. That's the strat.

If you can take it to your car before you go into the show, do. It will be worth it (even if it's a long walk).
I smile, but who am I kidding...
  • Get a picture of one and print it out yourself. Geez
  • What’s the typical edition size for a Pear Jam gig poster? (And yes.ive looked at a bunch on expresso beans and they rarely have it listed.)

Something tells me merch is going to be out of control this tour since fans can’t scalp extra tickets to help fund their going to multiple shows

If I’m going to multiple shows in the same city as I’m doing for LA, I don’t mind waiting in line for merch on the first day.

Get to the venue early if I can get in quick I get my merch and then don’t have to worry for show 2.

Gives me the opportunity to do whatever I want before the show on day 2.

What if the merch is specific to each day? Especially the posters. Could be two totally different ones, one for each day by different artist. It's happened before.

Most of the comments in this thread so far don't really tie in woth my own experiences.   I'm not one for spending an inordinate amount of time queuing for anything, yet I've never failed to get a poster.  Queued for maybe an hour tops at each of the London shows in 2018.   Are things that much worse in the States?

Quite a few do, sadly. We had two different car loads of people loading up merch they just bought outside onto ebay. At their cars in the parking lot in Sunrise, FL in 2016. When asked whatcha doing? Making money, so, we can hit a lot more shows up on this tour. Just shook my head and went back near my car.

If you have reserved seats, get in line to enter the venue a half hour to 45 minutes before doors open. Posters should be easy peasy then. That's better than waiting in line outside the venue for 2-4 hours and them being sold out by the time you get to the front of the line anyway.

One thing I don't know though, is what to do if you have GA (without compromising your GA position greatly).

How is it for buying posters on the uk/europe dates?
All but 1 of my shows have been in the UK/Europe and I've never had to queue for longer than an hour and I've never failed to get a poster.  I don't tend to rock up especially early either.  Some of the experiences people talk about in this thread are totally foreign to me but now I'm quite worried about getting an MSG poster when I fly over in March.  I'm only in NY for three days and certainly won't be spending one of those queuing for a $30 poster..... :-/

Do what I said above, unless you have GA. Get in line maybe an hour before doors open. I got a poster to MSG1 in 2016 (the owl poster) easily using that method. This is while many did the long wait half the day and came away empty handed. I didn't try for the MSG 2 poster since I didn't like the design.

Will do for sure - thanks for the tip.  I let my membership lapse until quite recently so I very much doubt I'll be anywhere near GA.
