It also depends who I go to the show with... my wife will be cool with me hanging out early on the merch line while she checks out the city.  If there with any of my friends, they have zero interest in merch and prefer we get some food and beers before the show.  I fine either way... but lately I've been making the move to ebay to avoid wasting time and energy.

Please consider this. I did the line thing for the last time if 2013. Stood out in the freeze at the Seattle Center for a poster that I don't even like. Got sick, and the next day the same poster is sitting inside the warm showbox for sale. A little later it was available here in the shop too.
I wasted hours, lost precious time before the show that night. That was it. Lesson learned.
We were all like cattle lining up to eat/buy our "things."
I jam (silly typos) proud to say I just recently acquired my 1 year poster free chip from "I have a poster problem." I am just focusing on the new music. I do not want to go back to poster rehab.

Part of my therapy was spending a couple of nights in a big poster tube. It was dark and terrible. I believe it was to see how the poster felt.

I wouldn't mind waiting a couple hours on line for a poster if there was a certainty that they would still be available when I got to the front.  But more and more I just prefer to pay up on ebay to avoid wasting my time and also avoiding how pushy and rude a crowd of fans can be when there is Pearl Jam merch for sale.

yeah...reminds me of waiting for a few hours at WRigley then they sell out of a poster right before you get a chance to purchase....and then more posters come right after you walk out the door

I get that people collect things, we all have our vices.  However, I swear many of you poster nerds care more about them than the show itself.

    poster nerds....nice

It's a nice memento.  Although I do resist buying a poster when I don't like the look.

I'm still in search of a Kentucky Six.  That's kind of my white whale right now

But yeah I'm done with the lines.  I don't mind paying a little extra to avoid all that shit.  If anyone wants to grab me an Oakland poster I'll pay $80 :)

I wish they'd just offer them for sale before the show like they've done before.

are they not doing that this tour? It was nice.. and then we had a chance to go back to our cars to put the posters up. I'm probably going to UBER to the show, so I have no idea what I will do..

me too....if they are going to these lengths to keep scalpers from gouging us on tickets I would think they would do the same for posters.

Just allow the artist to take online orders and print as many as you need to fulfill orders.  Artist could still sell AP editions, etc.

If I was managing 10c I would set up a screen printing shop in the warehouse and crank out as many $40 T-shirts as I could after the tour.  Free money.

I love this. I bought for Fenway 16, Foo Fighters at Fenway 18, and PJ 18 outside the venue. Got our posters, put them in the car/hotel and then didn't have to worry about bringing a tube into the show or keeping an eye on it. Tampa '16 we bought inside and it wasn't a big deal...
    Tampa 04/16
    Fenway 1 08/16
    Fenway 2 08/16
    Fenway 1 09/18
    Fenway 2 09/18
PJ songs at our wedding: Love Reign O'er Me (1st dance); Sirens (last dance); Long Road (Momma-Son dance).

They should add a poster option when you put in for 10C tickets , just like they did for ticket stubs this time.
One per 10C account - only downfall is you agreeing to buy the poster without seeing it

Just watch this forum and pictures will surface of people buying massive quantities of things, then returning to the back of the line to do it again.  Let the anger flow through you, and blind you with hate. Post wildly and create new threads faster than ever before.  Search for these people throughout the city of the show you’re in and let it ruin your experience.  Then go to the next show and do it again.

    Can’t stop laughing.

My tip:  Don’t buy for folks that aren’t there.

I guess I'm the only one who looks forward to the poster line. Always fun meeting new folks
