I'm coming in from NYC - where is the preparty? Any good hotel suggestions near the venue. My parents live in the DC area, so that is a good backup, but I would rather stay closer to the action that night.
I grabbed a hotel right after the tour announcement dropped at RL Inner Harbor...listed less than half a mile from the venue. Rates were reasonable at the time, not sure how much they have changed since.

Can’t wait to see them in that small venue. How are the audio acoustics in the Baltimore/Royal Farms arena?
Great. I've seen a few shows there. MUCH better than capital one arena in DC.
100% agreed! Saw Tom Petty there on his last tour and it sounded great.

  • Home town show! I Was there in 2013 with my son, in the pit, Great show!  My son was in the school of rock at the time & after the show was part of a meet & greet with SOR & went back stage.  Meanwhile, parents weren't allowed, had to wait outside.  He met Mike & they all had a cool experience. Of course I was freaking out, but excited for him.  Seven years later my son Chris is a professional musician, Broadway musical touring drummer.
This time around I got shut out of the lottery & on sales.  Been a fan club member for over 20 years(161xxx).  Desperately seeking a ticket to the show.  If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Really want to see my home town show!

1st time seeing a show in BAL. Where can we stay, walk to the show, and not have to gamble with our lives on the way there and back? My apologies if I disparage anyone’s hometown, just heard stories. I’m from Detroit so I know a thing or two about people’s perceptions about certain cities.

I don't think the Inner Harbor area is a place you need to worry much.
  • Parts of Inner Harbor can be sketchy.  Better area is Harbor East, just east of the inner harbor.  I own a restaurant there & its safe.  But Uber or Lyft to show.

Good to know. Are we talking "there's a 50/50 shot you'll get mugged" sketchy? Or "people who've never been to a city and get scared every time they see a black person" sketchy?
  • Just do not walk alone, & when you do walk, stay on the main roads.  Ive lived here my whole life, & I keep my head on a swivel walking around the city.  I didn't mention this to scare any one, just to be mindful of your surroundings.  Baltimore has gotten worse in the last decade, more so than other cities.

Definitely park in West Baltimore near the towers.

  • Please let me know if you can't use two or three Baltimore tickets; thank you.

Thanks. I checked that hotel. It was sold out. I ended up paying a little more for a Holiday Inn that is right on the same block as the venue. Its a bit pricey so I may continue to look for something cheaper as we get closer to the show - but I also don't mind the idea of a 4 minute walk to the venue.

We should have a forum meetup at Sound Garden.
I love the Sound Garden!  I went there for a couple of Record Store Days, the best being Clutch doing an in-store performance and signing, and then playing Rams Head Live (on 4-20).  Really cool place.
