E.K wrote:I think so ... I haven't been near there for a month because of the freaking cicadas! I live in that white apartment block with the timber framed windows at the back of the golf course, just off Cabbage Tree Road. Hey don't smash any windows .. just get all the cicadas out of the area for me. Bash them with your golf clubs or something!
I think I know where you mean. If its at the bottom of CTR they used to be squash courts several years ago. Or are you on the other side of the road further away from the clubhouse/main area of the course.
Ill take some old balls and my driver and launch them in your direction.
Went to Fitness First in the new shopping centre a few weeks ago. Seriously good gym - shits on my one here in the city.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -

Yeah I live in those apartments .. I heard there were squash courts here once. Apart from the cicadas the place heats up like a sauna after a hot day too. Used to live near North Narra beach and am really mssing the sea breezes. Mona Vale shops aren't bad. I love the noodle place they have there near the pub. The MVH has gone a bit downhill recently though.Sydney, Australia - March 12, 1998; Sydney, Australia - February 14, 2003; Sydney, Australia - November 8, 2006; Sydney, Australia - November 25, 2006; Brisbane, Australia - November, 2009; Gold Coast, Australia - January, 2014, Gold Coast, Australia - November 20240 -

Gold. Grew up at Northy. Got my old mans 60th at that little restaurant there on Friday night.
Then a mates bucks party starting at 10.30 at Newport Arms. Out on a boat for the day then back to the Arms. Gonna hurt Sunday!
Got run for a few hours. Take care.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -
DonJon wrote:BUCKETS!!! Haven't done one of those for years. Holy headrush!
Yep I would definately give the ales a rest for a while. Sounds like the trigger to me. And I totally understand the green increase.
I was WAY more addicted to the habit/association part. Beer = ciggie.
Knew I was never addicted to the nicotine so it was just a matter of doing things differently for a couple of weeks.
Good! I'm glad someone understands the green situation!
I'm addicted to the nicotine...been smoking for 10 years....the last 5 of so about 15+ ciggies a day.
Re buckets -- it's the only way I smoke! Unless there's a joint being passed around! Bongs give me asthma!★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★

You mean the new one near Lakeside caravan park? Bella Lago I think they call it now. That place keeps changing owners. Hopefully it's beach weather this weekend. I'll make sure I steer clear of the Newport Arms this weekend too.Sydney, Australia - March 12, 1998; Sydney, Australia - February 14, 2003; Sydney, Australia - November 8, 2006; Sydney, Australia - November 25, 2006; Brisbane, Australia - November, 2009; Gold Coast, Australia - January, 2014, Gold Coast, Australia - November 20240 -
I'm sure someone was looking for Rearviewmirror LP. You can get it for $40 from

If you've only been smoking 15 ciggies a day, you should be OK.
I wish I could quit...I'm another one who's addicted to the habit and not the nicotine, but living out here in the bush, it's a bit harder to change my situation/circumstances to avoid the smoking habit....not much else to do than have countless people popping in for coffee's during the day and drinks at night. I'd have to put myself in quarentine. I've tried the patches and overdosed on them, Zyban made me smoke more. The only time I haven't smoked was during all of my pregnancies....and well....I'm not going to go that drastic to try and quit

Thanks! It's probably more like 20+ a day really.
It sounds so bad now! At the time (yesterday!) I was just "puff puff puff wheeze wheeze wheeze and didn't really care!!!
How the hell did you overdose on nicotine patches? Leigh and I are on the strongest patches. We've both felt a little bit high to be honest.
Now I'm going to pick him up from work and we are buying something to reward ourselves (and take our mind off it). I might buy the That 70s Show boxset and I think Leigh's buying a Lord of the Rings PC game. Good reward!!! Lurrrv That 70's show....piss ma pants every time I watch it. I used to always have a bag of lolly pops (chuppa-chups) in the cupboard, too - something to do with your hands.
At least you're both quitting together. Everytime I attempt to quit, my hubby ends up coming home from work on the 3rd/4th day, with a packet of Dr. Pat, begging me to have one.....I just turn into what would be the equivalent to The Biatch from hell.....on menopause!!!!!!!!
I'm proud of you both and have faith that you'll do it! I'm planning on doing it some time this year....I'm just not ready right now. It's a filthy, disgusting habit!!!!0 -
Yep.. definately the Lolly pops.
Hows evereyone doing today!!?? I am so tired....work is cranking and i need some sleep.....yes i do.... but im in here.....cos i can.
Ok Zig....I work at the Hard Rock Cafe. We hire people for their individuality and unique qualities....Tatts, Pink and Green Hair, totally insane.....whatever is not the norm!
Its how its been forever at the HRC, everywhere around the world. We are irreverent....not like others, we are different, and can get away with a heap of stuff with our guests..... because thats what we are. None of this bullshit silver service, its singing and dancing and going nuts that sets us apart from the rest. One of our Hosts.....also known as a "Director of First Impressions (in an ordinary boring world) is a tiny little thing with full sleeve tattoos on both arms. Its funny when people see them at first, but as soon as she starts talking, they realize that she is a sweet thing and just like the rest of us..... just with coloured arms. We used to have another host who was a complete Goth.....piercings out her eyes, 2 two inch spikes out her bottom lip, one in her tongue...scary when you first look at her......a total sweetheart when you start talking to her. Hope this gives you a little more of an understanding of the Hard Rock.....we dont do things by the book
I'll probably be there for a while yet. Have stuck at it for 6 yearsI love the place.....cant see myself leaving just yet.

That's cool. Don't take offence....I don't care where you get a tat. I suppose my point was more IF you leave HRC, what if you have trouble finding a job...and if you did find a dream job that required you to wear long sleeves everyday to hide the tats, would that bother you?★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★

OUT OF HER EYES??? I've never seen that. How do you pierce your eyes?
I don't really like piercing...some just aren't attractive. If any of my kids come home with those big plugs in their ears and stretch the fuck out of their ears, I'm going to kick their fucking arse.★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★
