Bridgeschool Night 2

Cosmo wrote:Beyond that... The Bridge School, for me, is about solidifying bonds with friends and creating bonds of friendship with others. It's not about staking out a plot on the grass and more about sharing your plot with your neighbors... even if they are there for D.M.B.... it's music from artists who are there for those kids. Because we are all there for those kids... or at least, we should be... well, in the end, I am.
And you can see it in the way the performers on stage are... whether it's Dave Grohl up on the riser playing to them or Ed singing, "Yes, I know you've reached my heart..." to Maricor. It's the kids.
God bless Neil and Peggi.0 -

Agreed. It was hard to go wrong at these shows. Truly enjoyed Death Cab for Cutie, Trent Reznor, Foo Fighters and Neil. And of course, PJ... they were fantastic. It was two great days of music.
Add to that all the great pj fans we met, fun people sitting by us, and some truly amazing seats on Sunday... and it's a damn good way to spend a nice October weekend.
And one benefit of great seats was being able to see the smiles on the kids faces, and seeing how much fun they were having and how much they enjoyed the shows. Makes me smile."Holly f**k, that was so amazing, I just forgot who I came here to see!!" - Courtesy of the guy in the U2 t-shirt standing next to me in Aloha Stadium, Post PJ0 -

Yeah .... Im still on a high also.
I think it was my favorite bridge also.
Not only was the music outrageaous but just the whole feel of the place. Not to mention all my friends that were there. It was soooooo good to see everyone again. AND meeting new people also.
Too crazy some of you!!!!!!!!!!
I was definitely feeling like shit yesterday.
It's going to be serious detox after that weekend.
Thanks to all of you who helped make my weekend one I will never forget (you know who you are)
Can't wait to see you all again.
It just amazes me that Pearl Jam has brought us all together.
Damn it!!! HOW could I forget to mention my Hawaiian sweetheart krzzzymary? What a moron I am! It was soooo good to see your beautiful face and spend some time with you, my dear. Ahhh good times. I forgot to mention that I didn't see it because we missed you on Saturday, but I heard you were wearing your sweetass pink "Pearl Jam No Ka Oi" shirt... I think Purple Rhino told me "she's wearing a Pearl Jam Oi shirt" -- HAHAHAH!!!!
Cosmo, I think you summed it up perfectly, bro. And the Foos did indeed kill.

Oh wow.
Goosebumps all over.
I can honestly say that this was one of the most fulfilling and moving experiences of my life. I still have a lump in my throat.
Yes, the musical experience tops my list. The best concert I have ever been to in my life. Hands down. THE best.
That isn't why I was moved, though. I am moved by what these people do for these children... and ashamed of myself for the things that I take for granted.
Happy Birthday to Me!
Thank youpretends to sleep as he looks her over...0 -

Don't be ashamed... be grateful for the little things you've got and celebrate your humanity and our abilities to share and give and the kindness you give and receive. I think that everyone in the world needs to go to a Bridge School weekend and realize what is really important in our lives... it's not our wealth or our religion or even ourselves... it's the understanding that we are all humans. I really believe that.

WOW!! What can I say about Bridge School night 2?! AMAZING!! It was my 26th b-day attending w/one of my best friends, and i had a GREAT time. We did not expect what was going to happen. The Foos, I mean, what can be said about the foos that haven't been said b/f? They kicked ASS!! Dave is truly a comedian, and his introduction to each band member was too much! Love the story about how he first performed Everlong acoustic at bridge school years back
Death Cab for Cutie, another one of my favorite bands as well, I Will Follow You Into the Dark was very touching and heartbreaking. They always never let me down each time I see them
Trent, took his songs and made them sound like we never heard them before. Nice touch with the strings and piano. Very stripped down and his rendition of Hurt gave me goosebumps.
PJ. I FINALLY got to see them on my b-day!! Missed them at Benaroya (due to a midterm!) and to finally see my favorite band on my b-day was one of the BEST!! I really had NO idea what they were going to play. When they opened up w/Masters of War, I knew we were in for a great time. Then Eddie dedicates Thin Air for Maricor and her friends, which is SO touching. Hearing Thin Air is one of my favorite songs EVER, and to finally hear this live w/the full band, just made my WHOLE b-day experienceAnd Around the Bend?! WOW!! Another one that I never heard live and to me, hearing it live for the first time, and having my unborn daughter in my belly, made me feel overwhelmed with emotion that I started to cry. Their whole setlist, from BOTH nights were GREAT!
I am grateful that I attended Bridge School. It has helped so many kids around the area to get their education. They have touched the hearts of many people out there who attend a benefit show every year. I love how the bands there all praise the kids and thank them too:)ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~

nadia i was SO happy that they played thin air, not just because i adore that song myself, but what a wonderful birthday present for you!
bridge really is such a unique and special event. and seeing those kids onstage, and when they get on camera with those huge beaming smiles....just beautiful, i love it. this was my 5th time going to bridge shows, and the thing that stands out to me is that everybody on that stage, parents being with their kids, neil, pegi, and all the performers....it's all out of love. and celebrating what the bridge school does with amazing music...can't get better than that really.0 -
Thin Air was truly amazing. Wish I got it on video.
Got em with Neil though - Throw Your Hatred Down. Pretty good except for some numnut's head right in the middle during half of it.

you couldn't be more right Cosmo, watching those video clips and listening to Peggy Young talking about the history of the school and the programs they offer, it really humbles you. And it makes you want to go out and celebrate life and find ways to help others on a day to day basis.
I really enjoyed watching the kids when they would flash to them listening to the music, it was quite touching indeed. That little one with the drum sticks was really getting into it. It was so sweet.
I'm so happy I went, not just because I got to see PJ, or because I got to catch up with great friends who live thousands of miles away, but because it really is a great feeling knowing that there is so much others can do to help those less fortunate and that so many people really careDon't come closer or I'll have to go0 -
I've been resisting the urge to watch the video of throw your hatred down because I knew if I did I wouldn't be able to wait to be able to blast it on the stereo. Well, I lwatched it this morning and it was so great.....so where's the friggin MP3 already?!?!?
Seriously, how long does it usually take before recordings show up?All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

I'm glad that I saw them perform it two nights in a row. Betterman...I could have done with just one night."Underneath this smile lies everything - all my hopes, anger, pride and shame."0 -
YellowLed - I'm not sure if Base Camp will be releasing the Bridge shows through the pearl jam system, this was not a PJ Production, so not sure base camp has anything to do with releasing. Not sure if PJ would have rights to release on their own....
I can only confirm that the Bridge Folks are posting it on iTunes Nov 14ish. Or so they said at the show....[sic] happens0 -
Wow!
I just heard Black from night 2...Unreal!!!
Thin Air sounded pretty sweet too.0
