No, whoever is speaking finishes by stating, when their time is up, “I yield back,” and someone else will ask that the last word be stricken and the last word is “back.” It’s driving me crazy because I don’t know why they do it. An extension of time to speak is yielded by the next speaker when they say I yield my time to X.
Striking the last word: A lot of representatives have said "I move to strike the last word" today as the House debates amendments. It's a maneuver that allows them time to speak. House rules allow each member five minutes to speak on each amendment. Since they're proposing a new amendment (a change to the text), they're given five more minutes.

Lately I've heard a few pro-impeachment people say, "That would be great but if he is impeached I afraid the country will break out in civil war."I honestly think that's nearly absurd. Yes, there may be incidences of random violence (what else is new in America?), but give the average American the choice between going out and doing actual battle or staying home and watching Monday Night Football and stuffing themselves of Cheese Doodles and cheap beer, what are they going to choose? I just don't see it."Hey Marge, I think I'm gonna go out and join the Pro Trump militia.""But Fred, remember, today they have a special on Doritos and Ding Dongs at Walmart. Should we really miss that?""Nawww, you're right Marge. Let's get in the truck and load up on goodies!"Civil war in America? I don't think so."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0
