    Same advice as with any relationship when you feel it needs to be better -- make it about the other person.
    (Course, I don't feel damn near dead inside, so I cannot truly consider that factor.)

    Say "yes" when you can do something or be somewhere.
    Say "no" if you can't make it or are uninterested in doing something.
    Eliminate "maybe" and "we'll see".

    First figure out why you're near-dead inside?

    For true friendships, honesty and acceptance seem to work for me.  Being there, even just to listen, makes a difference.

    And while it goes both ways, never does quid pro quo come into play.

    White is not chocolate. It is wax. It is gross. 

    Dark chocolate, please. Milk is acceptable, but dark is most definitely preferred. :smiley:

    Agreed. Be willing to listen or just sit with them in silence, if that is what they need. Not knowing any of the particulars of the situation, I will guess that they are looking for support, not answers. And when the situation allows, make them laugh. That tends to break up the intensity of the moment.

    Unsolicited advice: I don't know what is causing the dead inside feeling (burn out?), but it is important to take care of yourself. As overused as the expression is, it is true: you can't pour from an empty cup. If you want/need to chat or vent, feel free to PM me.

    I am a horrible friend. I am so lost in my own little world. I don’t call or hang with anyone. Haven’t seen most of my friends in years. Oh well. That’s life. I’m selfish and anti social. ✌🏽🤘🏽
