I hate the Nationals.  And I don't like Howie Kendrick because he seems to always hurt teams I root for. But that made me happy

Poor Clayton.  The dodgers killed him.  All they had to do was close it out with the bullpen and his confidence would be good going into the St Louis.  you can only rebuild a race car so many times ...

It seems that using starters as relievers backfires way more that it works

Or Eovaldi, or Price, or Sale, or E. Rodriguez.

Cora caught lightning in a bottle last season with this maneuver, so now other teams are jumping on the trend and realizing it normally doesn't work. Starters and relievers have different ways of approaching their craft and its not interchangeable for most.

When I saw the Dodgers bring him in last night I knew they were toast...

Didn't Johnson and Schilling do the relief thing too?

I only watch the ass hole Dodgers when they’re playing a class organization like StL, so what the hell was Roberts doing? Shittiest managing in a big game since Maddon tried to give away the Cubs WS. Panic mode in a deciding game, at home, with a loaded team?

Johnson came in to finish up game 7 (After starting game 6) in 2001 and got the win, largely because the D'backs had lost faith in Bung Hole Kim who had become a puddle in Yankee Stadium earlier in the series, but nothing to the extent the Red Sox used starters in the pen last year.

As a Twins fan, I don't feel so bad anymore because the Dodgers are the biggest losers of this year's playoffs now. Total failure and their drought continues.
    It's a hopeless situation...

So ready for tonight's game. Houston needs to come out of the gate strong and never let up.

Yeah, I'm thinking Morton on short rest would've been a better option than Glasnow for the Rays. Should be a good one.

he ate a shit sandwich by them getting the WC
Then a bigger shit sandwich when they had that stunning comeback win to conquer the WC game
Then an even bigger shit sandwich that the Nationals had another comeback in the DS to top the Dodgers, followed by the Phillies firing their manager.
A bigger one if they beat the Cardinals for Washington's first world series appearance since the early 30s.
And if they win the World Series, it will be a soul-crushing shit sandwich, never fully recovered from.

bochy did it before cora with lincecum and bum.

yeah, those fucking d-bags won with schilling and johnson. MLB  gave their bankrupt asses a loan so they could sign schilling. thanks, bud.

^^ Fitting for that 'classy' baseball org, the St Louis Cardinals.

(Probably the team I like least in MLB.  They do win, and they do have a great history...but I can't stand them.  Yadi can suck a giant bag of dicks.  Tony LaRussa was the world's biggest redass jackhole.  Even Jack Clark can suck it.)

I do love the people in StL, though, a great city.
The love he receives is the love that is saved

^^^^^ agree on yadi and larussa, not on jack the ripper.

those words could come back to haunt shildt.

They’re already in over their head. Nobody in that division even deserved a playoff spot. I think they realize they’re playing with house money but they can beat anybody if the offense really clicks. 13 runs the other night is no indication of that either.

I'd leave Cole in the whole game at this point!
