If your shirt ever looks like this, just take the f*cker off, we don't care what you look like underneath... we're seeing it anyways.

How is it possible that we the PJ Community can use the word funk or funky and not have George Clinton or Parliament Funkadelic posted.

One of their classics live.....COSMIC SLOP

BTW this month as on All Hallows Eve I'm wearing the same diaper outfit with my guitar just like Gary Shider did in the video. Just have to find some 4 inch marshmallow heels.

    Peace

Can you post a pic of you in your funky 'costume' after Halloween, it sounds funktabulous. 😳

Going straight to Parliament or Clinton would have been too easy. @OffSheGoes35 likes to mix it up, hence the diversity.   Thanks for including the masters of funk! 🙃

    Who is their background singer!?!
  • This particular song contains the most famous sampled part of a rap song ever.  Ms Collins did it first though!

That would be Loleatta Holloway.  She had her roots in gospel & had been making music since the 60's, I believe.  She did several remixes of this song over the years & she had some disco hits.

She sadly died about 5 years ago  she was only in her 60's.

One thing that's obvious,  she can sing & this track, musically, is nothing without her voice.

Now I know why Nancy mentioned this thread when I played Rare Earth in a different thread. Hedo is a fellow Six Feet Under fan, if I remember correctly. They played some good music on that show! That's where I knew the song from anyway.
This song wasn't on that show though...
