looks like Raindog is legit based on Mikes answer yesterday. He stood by his comments a few weeks ago and as of now he appears to be the insider. I will take his word for it going forward, thank you Raindog!
    You're welcome.
Thanks for your info raindog.  Please keep it coming as you get it.  Have a great weekend.

I can definitely understand that frustration. you put your heart and soul into this artistic endeavor, and you can never escape questions about your main gig. it's inevitable, but obviously and understandably frustrating.

the same even happens after bands break up. Liam and Noel put out new records, talk about that for a bit, then always get asked "so is Oasis going to reform?" "how is your relationship with your brother". I'd go into an interview saying "no questions about (this)".

I'm pretty sure the headstones do this. they had a drummer, Dale, for 25 years. he "quit", or maybe got pushed out, i don't know. But he has basically been erased from their history, and not ONE interviewer has asked them about Dale. there's no way that would get glossed over by every single interviewer unless it was demanded by the band.

But WHY do so many care about what Liam and Noel now do?

Why does Mike have an open invitation to go on just about any rock station in the world to talk about his side projects? It's not to say it's not a picture of health.

I'd think all 3 would be extremely thankful and gracious.

I would think after the amount of times you get asked about your "main" project, especially in this situation, where he has done so much outside the band that he has to fight to get recognized (FFS he was on a Fox station), while you are trying to promote your current work, would be frustrating.

sure they'd know why they are there in the first place, how they got there. but you just want to be shown some respect for your current work.
Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer

You can’t be all that annoyed about them asking about Pearl Jam.  If it was a random dude and lady doing this performance I doubt they get 10 minutes on air like they gave them.

Mike eluded to a ‘nice surprise’ or something to the effect, he must have a pretty good idea of the album as a whole and what’s coming, if his comment was along the lines of frustration at not getting the album done then what surprise his he talking about?

I think mike contradicts himself a little when he seems vague on the album progress yet says there a nice surprise coming.

To me sounds like a guy that wants to play music but the lead singer isn't interested

At the same time. One of the "insiders" on here said that Eddie toured Europe in 2019 because other people in PJ wasn't interested in touring in 2019.

Who knows, maybe it's not the singer who's slowing it all down?

touring and recording are different. jeff hates touring. maybe ed isn't a fan of recording.

Most 55yr old buddies probably only want to relax and drink beer when they get together.  I keep my expectations low when it comes to their schedules.

I think some members of the band aren't big on travelling.  Hence the reduced touring (and to be honest aside from the first few years, have never done tours as big as some of their peers).

Album wise.  I think they keep trying.   You get the feeling they go into the studio here and there.  I think that might be a collective struggle.  Trying to come out with enough good tunes to complete an album.  I think that's why we don't get details.  They're probably not sure how long it'll take?

They're all making music for other things aside from Ed. Perhaps you are right but really the best thing for them if that is the case is to take a hint from Neil and just jam and record the thing in a week. Don't overthink. It shouldn't take 6 years to record an album

in a brisk 30 days, Backspacer was the first album since 1996’s No Code that Pearl Jam recorded outside of their Seattle base

i wish i wish i wish i wish, i guess it never stops
