So glad I got to seem them, though only once. The crowd was lame, but the band were tight. No one sounds like The Cars and no one ever will. Rest easy, Ric.

One of my neighborhood friends was a few years older than me and had me listen to their first album. I was probably only 11 or 12 but I remember being fascinated with the pictures on the record sleeve. I had been recently turned on to KISS so they were drastically different. I still have that album that I bought in 1979 or 1980.
I didn't care much for Heartbeat City (1984) and anything after that but their first album is up there with any debut album.

I’ll admit it since no one else is. Drive is an awesome song. Never got into the rest of the songs. But I just rock out 80’s style to Drive. Every time. The Deftones cover is awesome too.
Dude produced bad brains 'rock for light'.... enough said...good life. Thank you.

About 12, maybe 15 years ago, a woman stopped me on the street and said, "Has anyone ever told you you look like Ric Ocasek?" Must have been the hair at the time, the nose, the thin face maybe. Anyway, I said, "No way, I'm not that cool." Ric was though.
Very sorry to see him go. R.I.P Ric Ocasek.
