In Memoriam

I have vivid memories of that day and the fear and uncertainty that followed.   It really did change the way we lived forever.  

I remember being at the U2 concert about a month later at MSG and the band scrolled all the names of the victims during the show.  It was a very powerful and emotional few moments.  

I remember the fear that was palpable in public places especially at big events. People were convinced that there was going to be another attack. It was just a matter of when.   I was at Yankee Stadium for every playoff game and World Series game that fall.  Those were some of the most exciting games I’ve ever seen but it was surreal to be at a game where everyone is focused on the game until a plane flew overhead and 50,000 people would look up and watch until it passed.  This would happen every time a plane flew over.  It was really crazy. Although I wasn’t a W fan, seeing the president appear at Yankee Stadium during the World Series and stand out on the field was something everyone in the city needed to see.  He really projected a lot of confidence when we needed it most.  I really recommend the 9 Innings From Ground Zero documentary.  It does a great job of capturing what was going on in the city that fall and how people felt.  I rewatch it every year and it chokes me up every time.  There are some very poignant stories shared.  It’s posted on YouTube.  

Anyway.... this is a tough day but it also inspirers me to remember all the courageous people that stepped up that day and acted so selflessly.

Wow. I just finished watching thank you for sharing. I balled my eyes out and makes me miss the times before cell phones when people lived fully in the moment. You'll never get that feeling again now cuz everyone around you is trying to video or take pics instead of high fiving even in the most surreal moments. Crazy.

So sorry for all and hope when we go, we find out none of this earth stuff matters. Love your friends, family and strangers while we are here.

Be kind and considerate...and others will reflect that even in a small way we may not notice.
If not, at least you can be one more good person on this planet.

RIP all that suffered. And peace to all that still suffer today.
