  • Bruce Bochy has managed the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants from 1995-2019.  His career record is 1995-2019.
It's the only time in MLB history that a manager's record has equalled his years of tenure.  He should just retire this afternoon.
HAHAHA!!! What a stupid damn stat.  Someone got paid to figure that out, lol!

Not specifically that stat. But I go through it probably more than I need to and I would probably notice it.

I think someone on twitter realized it by looking at b-ref, but then someone else took it further to see if it had ever been done before. That person has a subscription to some crazy stat site.  It was then reposted by one of the (handful of) crazy stat guys I follow.

Good grief, Mr .500.  Bruce and Jeff Fisher should buy an RV and go around the country giving seminars on mediocrity.

Eh....baseball, you're gonna lose a lot of games. Leyland is about .500 for his career too for example.

I don't know if karma figures into Derek Jeter being an absolute moron.

still, damn shame to what could have been a historic season

The word was that Yelich didn't want to be a part of the rebuild. So they accommodated his wishes. Too bad they got crap in return.

So that could be the case but Jeter did a fire sale of all the talent ... why rebuild when you have an All Star lineup (unless you don't have the money to pay them)?

Well he was still under control. I don't think anyone thought he would turn into this though and he probably wouldn't if he did stay.

I am literally getting 15 of his cards back from grading today.

Couldn't have come at a worse time...

Their team is only a game behind the cubbies now too so double bad timing...

I was wondering the same thing 5 years ago when he was on the Cubs roster.

Don't worry, the Cubs will make sure the Brewers overtake them, Yelich or no Yelich.

How about two days in a row?  With the Mariners win last night, their record from 1995-2019 is now 1995-2019.
