    What happened to changing with the times. Glad no one was killed in mass shootings or no hurricanes or other natural disasters happened in August. It’s now a half day trip anywhere in this country. And we know they are not flying coach. When the most rotten president ever is in office you cancel your vacation and stay put. Not go away for over a month and then come back so backlogged that nothing will get done. Just because asshole orange face golfs 50% of his time doesn’t mean the rest should follow suit.

    You work 52 weeks a year,  no vacation?  Write your congressman I guess,  but his tweets aren't creating new laws.  And Congress in session isn't stopping from tweeting.  I like Representative Spanberger in town more than 4 weeks a year.

    No. But when I’m gone someone else is doing my job. Name a successful company that takes over a month off and just shuts down. Yes there all people behind the scenes but they can’t make things happen. The way it’s set up is garbage. Do I have an answer to fix it. No. I’m just some dumb Pearl Jam fan who hates Trump.     I totally understand that. That’s why a full month plus off does more harm than good. No one can do the job. Take a week every two months. That’s six weeks a year. Rotating schedules so people are still in Washington. Make a way for these people to vote on legislation if they are home in their district. Come on. It’s almost 2020. This isn’t 1776. Things can be easily changed to make things more efficient. It’s just the assholes that vote on it are the ones effected.

    Completely disagree.  I don't know that voting efficiency should be an objective.  And I sure don't think there should be backup congressmen and senators.  Should we have a cross training initiative? Voting redundancies? 

    Btw, everyone has staff to support them full time,  even during recess.

    i actually think everyone being off at the same time period makes sense. as log jammed as things get, i think it would get worse with so many people in office on vacation when they are supposed to be working with their colleagues.

    The dem house passed a shit ton of bills. Moscow Mitchy Baby won’t bring them to vote in the senate. Prior to that, while Obama was in office, the repub congress wouldn’t pass anything lest they make Obama look like he accomplished something. Vote anything but repub.
