The early Europe 2000 shows have short versions of RVM without the meandering jam in the middle.  These are excellent renditions of the song.  I really like the one from San Sebastian, Spain (5/26/00).  The drumming at the end is ferocious.
Will definitely give this a listen. I do appreciate "efficient" performances from time to time.
Wish they would go back to the short versions of RVM and Porch from time to time. And not always as a set closer.

the crowd. the song. everything. check it out!
  • Porch from Atlanta '94.  But I'm partial to that whole show being my home town.

Crazy Mary from San Diego in 2006. Unbelievable crowd participation.
This concert (7/7/06) is also noteworthy for the very rare performance of Long Road as an encore.  There is a lengthy introduction to the song in which Eddie explains how, why, and for whom it was written.  One of my favorite live Pearl Jam moments.  Long Road transitions into an equally heartfelt version of Come Back.  San Diego 2006 is a glorious show.

One of the greatest (post-1990's) versions of Alive, too.

The whole 1st encore is really, really good.  Great versions of all songs (Long Road, Come Back, Small Town, Crazy Mary, Crown of Thorns, and Alive) Have never been able to find a good video.
  • Off He Goes NOLA 2000.  The solos in this one are absolutely amazing.
