The fact that I was at this show, makes it a perfect choice! There's alot to be said for Nowhere0

You know, the more I look at all of this and compare the setlists etc, etc. I'm starting to worry we might not get the full show.
Vault #5 was only 19 songs. If you remember though, the actual show that Vault #5 represents (11/30/93 Las Vegas) had 20 songs
played. Eddie and Terry Presley played the Elvis version of the song My Way. It was only like a 2 minutes thing and can totally be considered am "improv" or "ramblings." I totally understand it had been released before as a holiday single in 1995, but why would that stop them from adding it onto the end the show? My only explanation is that it wouldn't fit on the last disk, as Vault 5 was 2 lp, back and front and the D side had the aforementioned Whipping, Leash, Porch and covers clocking in at whopping 20:53. My way would have added at least 3 minutes onto that time, and like i mentioned would have been pointless to put on one single slab.
Vault #9, on the other hand, had 21 songs played at the show. The last 3 of which are the longest in I've Got A Feeling (If you haven't heard this version before, it's a jammy version I would put somewhere between 9-10 minutes long) Rearviewmirror, and Rockin In The Free World.
So if we are going by the classic vault way of 3 or 4 (sometimes maybe 5) songs per side, at least 15-20 minutes, this is the math I've come up with based on the run times on the AUD bootleg:
SIDE A (17:42)
Intro/Release
Even Flow
Dissident/Sick o Pussies
Go
SIDE B (15:40)
Animal
Jeremy
Deep
Why Go
SIDE C (19:32)
Daughter/Do You Feel Lucky/W.M.A
Glorified G
Alive
Once
SIDE D (19:25)
Footsteps
Porch
Last Exit
Tremor Christ
SIDE E (22:00... thats pushing it)
Blood
State of Love & Trust
I've Got A Feeling
RVM
SIDE ??? (5:25)
Rockin In The Free World
I understand it some editing can be done to rearrange things, but I still "have a feeling" something is going to be edited off of this release.
It also seems people want a vault that isn't a U.S. show. To be fair, while I like this upcoming release, I think if they wanted to put out a 93 show they should have dug deeper in the vault and went with Rotterdam Night 2 7/17/93.
Pj plays an almost 10,000 capacity arena (which Ed talks about in the Night 1 boot) but the setlist is pretty close to this one, but gives off a European flair.
Set:
Oceans (instead of a Release opener)
Even Flow (Ed sure did like EF in that #2 hole)
Once
Whipping
RVM (at #5!!!!!)
Jeremy
Deep
Garden (which would take a 5 show break after this show)
Animal
State Of Love & Trust
Angie (Rolling Stones cover, Ed manipulates the lyrics to talk about the people of Utrecth. The night before this they played Beast Of Burden)
Black
Alive
Glorified G
Daughter (with a Ruby Tuesday tag)
Why Go
Elderly Woman
Leash
Porch (w/ a Dave Abbruzzese drum solo!!! for all those dave lovers out there)
Fuckin Up
W.M.A (IN FULL!!!!!!)
Footsteps
Baba O
All I'm saying is there should be more options. What do you guys think?Post edited by SandyRavage on0 -

As for my way, pretty sure Santos or someone said it was actually part of the pre set or opener, not a final encore, which is why it wasn't includedPost edited by NewJPage on6/26/98, 8/17/00, 10/8/00, 12/8/02, 12/9/02, 4/25/03, 5/28/03, 6/1/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 6/6/03, 6/12/03, 6/13/03, 6/15/03, 6/18/03, 6/21/03, 6/22/03, 7/12/03, 7/14/03, 10/3/04, 10/5/04, 9/9/05, 9/11/05, 9/16/05, 5/16/06, 5/17/06, 5/19/06, 6/30/06, 7/23/06, 8/5/07, 6/30/08, 8/23/09, 8/24/09, 5/4/10, 5/7/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 10/11/13, 10/17/14, 8/20/160 -
I'm ok with it, but was really hoping for Santa Barbara 03, or one of the two 04 VFC Boston shows, or any 04 show for that matter.Having tasted, a life wasted, I'm never going back again!0

Santa Barbara 2003 would have been great0

Not as excited as I would be for any other year we don't have a vault from, but it's a good show. Oddly enough, I checked my bootlegs and I have the 12/09 show, but not 12/08. I'm going to have to listen to that one to get in the '93 zone. The Vegas '93 show was my go to favorite for years when driving. It's a hopeless situation...0

I think they need to start figuring out a better way to get more shows out. Maybe one Vault in vinyl a year and a bunch more digitally. There are so many shows from 94-96 not released plus other ones from ‘04 etc....0

The same with the 1998-shows.
So, I would have rather have had this VAULT #15 or whatever and have had some 1997, 1996, 2004 etc in between. And some shows that are not from the US.

2004 - with all the political covers and guest artists
Are more "fun" concert tours for a vault to me than a 1996 show or MGS 1998.
2007 - even though I would like London (all 10c floor) or Copenhagen I can see are very similar to 2006. And they should just be released as digital downloads instead (if they were recorded).
I also prefer them to do shows that are shorter. Because having a 3h show on vinyl will just mean I won't play it. So finding shorter benefit-shows etc for the vaults is cooler to me than a regular, normal concert.
As in I wouldn't have a problem with a vault being groundworks 2001:
Instead of fifteen vinyls to switch between and 100 dollars in shipping costs. Haha.
EDIT: Vault #2 chicago was a good one. But obviously someone thinks it's not worthy of a vinyl release...

I am interested to see if this is the full show or not. If not, to me it actually is a good sign. It sounds like the majority of the pre 2000 shows will have missing gaps or songs. I hope they still continue to put these shows out. If they turn to only releasing complete shows, I believe that they will be releasing stuff that a fair amount of us have already heard.looking to hear of the earth0

We all know the different eras of Live PJ. Every tour feels different. Jack shows are different than Dave A shows. Early Matt shows are different than later shows.
I love how the Vaults capture that. We just need an Hawaii/Australia/New Zealand ‘98 show next. Those Jack Yield shows are some of my favorites

My guess is "early " refers to the Dave A era. Like you, I'm certainly on board with some more Jack shows (not necessarily because of him but because of the songs).0 -

There will be very little pre 1993 as is, Brett Eliason did not begin multi-tracking shows in earnest until the fall 1993 versus tour, prior to that there are probably a handful of multi-tracks if I had to guess.
There are at minimum probably 6 fall 1993 Spring 1994 still worth releasing, 3 from each I would like to see for sure
-Berkley 10.31.93
-Dallas 11.12.93
-UNO 11.17.93
-Chicago 3.13.94
-St Pete 3.29.94
-Rochester 4.7.94His eminence has yet to show.

Releasing two nights from a Bridge School benefit > any concert from 91-94
I'd like unique shows that differ. Regardless of era. But I do want them to cover every era. Including the early stuff.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
Yeah, I would blindly choose anything from the 90's than anything from 2000 onwards.. just because we have literally hundreds of official releases from 2000 onwards, and only a few ones from before.. I don't get how anyone could say "enough of the early shows"?! I love their recent shows, but the recent and modern PJ era has been very well represented by countless of official releases, the same can't be said for the "early years". Also, eveything don't have to be on damn vinyl (and I love vinyl); in my opinion one Vault show a year on vinyl is more than enough, but it would be so great if more unheard soundboards came out each year, just on digital or CD.

They got me good. I'll buy any and every vault on vinyl they press.

My favorite live PJ era is VS - Live at the Gorge. So thats a 12 yr window
98 is my favorite tour as a whole. So i guess Vault 8 is the newest that i would want my vaults to be and Vault 5 is the oldest0
