I'm seeing Carlos next week. The new cd is actually quite good. A nice fusion of Latin Rock and Afrobeat. Much better than I had expected. This will be my 8th or 9th time seeing him. Always a good show.

  • mayer really crushing it on his new tour. the last cd's songs played live are really shaping up to include stellar extended guitar moments, which is not as they sound on the cd. love that he does that. crushing guitar solos. yum

Just saw Billy Strings in Pittsburgh last night, what an incredible show!
They covered In Hiding and it was as great a live music moment for me as any I've had at a Pearl Jam show.  Thanks to @HesCalledDyer for turning me on to Billy Strings by posting a link to Billy covering In Hiding at Delfest!  I owe ya bud!
The new song Away From the Mire was really good live too, I look forward to his new album.

Lovers of stringed instrumentation check out Billy Strings!

I almost went to that but I needed to behave last weekend.  My one buddy has hung out with Billy at the last couple festivals he's been to.  A couple weekends ago at Peach Fest, they were hanging out late night and my buddy pulled out a knife, asked Billy to carve his name into his upright bass in the Slayer font.  Billy was like "Really?  Fuck yeah, man!!" and carved away!
