  • Okay, sometime back I requested a fix for the mp3 version of the first night of Bridge School 1996, night 1 (10-19-96). It didn't appear, and I realized I could actually fix the file myself by downloading the FLAC, burning it to disc and then ripping the tracks back off as mp3s, so now "Footsteps" and "Sometimes" will play correctly (and it's encoded at 256kpbs, as before). So here is the link

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BHUNLYNW

    Tracks:
    01) Intro
    02) Footsteps
    03) Sometimes
    04) Betterman
    05) Corduroy
    06) Off He Goes
    07) Nothingman
    08) Black
    09) Daughter
    10) Small Town
    11) Yellow Ledbetter

"Corduroy" and "Sometimes" are absolutely stunning on this night, and quite different from any other versions (even those played the following night). Let me know if there are any problems.

While I was ripping them, I went ahead and added "Porch" and "Around the Bend" from the second night (10-20-96) at the end of the disc, and forgot to remove them before zipping and posting the file. It took me all evening, so please, just delete them or pretend it's an encore, whatever. They appear as these files:

    12) Porch
    13) Around the Bend

If you play them all in order you'll notice a marked difference in the quality of the last two tracks, since the sound quality of the first night at Bridge School is far superior to the recording of the following night. Which is a shame, because I love that version of "Porch".

Anyhow, since 10-19-1996 is such a fantastic sounding show, I went and ahead and fixed it for those who wanted to download the mp3 version of the show. I apologize for the two extra tracks on there, they drag the total file size to 105 MB. If you unzip and remove "Porch" and "Around the Bend", you'll get back to the original 92 MB the folder was before.

Thanks for sharing folks. I hope this helps at least one person out there, and it isn't too confusing.

  • I've heard a little about High Numbers before but what exactly was this, I mean, is it just a pseudonym they've played under before or what? Does anyone have any of those shows they've played as High Numbers?
