I only recently decided to listen to Flipper.
Generic is so brilliant.
Anyone dig it?

    They were a fairly influential hard core band (with art-rock touches) from San Francisco back in the day.  Here's a sample of what they were about:

    I love the screaming vocals. Wish I could do that. I can see why Kurt loved them and how they influenced him.

    Yeah Flipper were a huge influence on the grunge bands.
    Kurt wore a Flipper t-shirt he made himself on SNL and can be seen in photos wearing it.

    Flipper was thought to be one of the best hardcore bands out there at the time.

    They got a pretty decent mention in American Hardcore documentary.

    Yeah, that was a cool segment of that film.  And the movie itself is one of the best punk documentaries around.

    I have that documentary on dvd but cannot remember Flipper in it, mind you it's been a very long time since I've watched. Might have to watch it again soon.

    I love Blow N Chunks and Gone Fishing too. Been listening to both on YouTube. I'm going to have to purchase on iTunes.

    I believe I may have heard Black Dots before. Haven't heard of Flex Your Head but can see it's on YouTube.

    Black Dots is awesome cause it's the Bad Brains.

    Flex Your Head is an album that changed my life.  Early Minor Threat, Rollins in teen idles and State of Alert, Faith/Void, GI.  So many awesome bands on this album.

    You might want to give Youth of Today a listen too.

    Rhorshack, Born Against, Pailhead, Meatmen, GBH Charged.  All fantastic bands that you would like.
