Eddie or no Eddie, I think I'm making this an annual tradition.
$430 for 2 day VIP, including all you can drink beers is maybe the best value I have ever gotten at a festival. Throw in Spring Training baseball and perfect weather, and I am in for life.
Not to be a dick here, but can people please chill the fuck out with bringing huge signs and holding them up the whole goddamn show. It's incredibly unfair to all the people behind you.
I'm sure you love your kid, and having Eddie acknowledge that his name is Vedder would be an amazing experience, but I had to spend the entire show staring at the back of your sign and it basically ruined the entire experience for me.
Please and thanks...www.cluthelee.com0 -

I had one of the best times in Tempe for this event. I took my Pops and I am just thankful folks weren’t complaining about “the 73yr old dude losing his mind over EV’s set” (and being a little overly chatty - but he was in awe which was epic in and of itself) ... because my Dad got his mind blown. Huge music fanatic but his first ever experience at not only a music festival but seeing EdVedd perform. We were in the VIP section and everyone on the staff there and through the festival grounds had all of the details down pat. Well run and organized festival. Legendary time - see y’all in Sept for Ohana!Post edited by gwall on0

Who was on stage at the end of Hard Sun? Looked like Joe Maddon and former Cubs players. I saw Joe Maddon, Ryan Dempster, David Ross but not sure who the rest were from the video I watched. Thanks in advance.0

Damn, we had a great time in Tempe. We had the VIP tickets and had no idea it was free beer, coffee and soda all weekend. Hit it hard. The festival was excellent, would absolutely do that one again, one of the most well run festivals I have been too. As far EV goes, what a performance! You could tell he was having a blast and making some of it up as he went. My wife and I had never seen EV solo and she is sold on this format, don't know that I will get her to another PJ show! Also, there were some in-different fans around us (along the rail on the VIP platform's first level) before the set started but by the time it was over they were blown away. Fans all of them. Great night, great weekend, so glad we made the trip.
Other highlights: Band of Horses was awesome. Sheryl Crow and Blues Traveler played the hits and that was all we wanted. G-Love still has it. Dorothy rocks. And of course, The Record Company. Just might be the best newer band out there, third time I have seen them and full speed ahead every time.0 -

My one complaint is to the fans who were so territorial about “their” specific spot that they would not even move to let someone leave the area. I can understand not wanting to move to enable someone to bud ahead of you (someone can start a post on whether saving a spot for someone who needed the facilities is acceptable behaviour) but come on if someone wants to leave nobody has the right to block them in.PJ: 2013: London (ON); Buffalo; 2014: Cincinnati; 2016: Sunrise, Miami, Toronto 1-2, Wrigley 2; 2018: London (UK) 1, Milan, Padova, Sea 2, Wrigley 1-2, Fenway 1-2; 2021: SHN, Ohana, Ohana Encore 1-2; 2022: LA 1-2, Phx, Oak 1-2, Fresno, Copenhagen, Hyde Park 1-2; Quebec, Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto; MSG, Camden, Nashville, Louisville, St. Louis, OKC; 2023: St. Paul 1-2, Chicago 1-2; Fort Worth 2; Austin 1-2; 2024: Vancouver 1-2, LV 1-2, LA 1-2, Napa, Barcelona 1-2; Indy; Chicago 1-2; MSG 1-2; Philly 2; Boston 2; Ohana 1-2; 2025: FL 1-2, ATL 1-2, Nash 1-2, Pit 1-2.

Sean Casey was also up there.
Outside of Clemens it was basically all the former MLB players that were listed as making an appearance at the festival on the lineup poster.'I know I was born and I know that I'll die, the in between is mine.'0 -

They are getting more fans, but I don't understand how they aren't fn huge! Maybe the bluesy rock doesn't do it for some, but I totally dig it!0 -
This was my first EV show. I thought the show went great and Ed sounded fantastic. Sometimes at PJ shows EV can be a little tough to understand depending on the venue but he was crystal clear at this one. Being close was an awesome experience as I usually go for reserved seating at stadium/arena shows (I like my beer at concerts). I think he threw in a few nice surprises on the limited set list he had to work with. He only seemed to refer to PJ as "our group" and didn't use names or the band name that I can recall. The dialogue was entertaining, Ed is pretty freaking funny actually.
On a personal level I was hoping for a few more Ed originals like Can't Keep or Sleeping By Myself but PJ seems to mix those in from time to time so still opportunities to catch those jams in the future.
The only downside is they actually cut him off right at 11. I expected at least a 2 or 3 song encore as most headliners are entitled too. Ed at one point even said he hoped to go into "extra innings." I guess the festival had a hard stop time and I don't think its a reflection of anything but festival atmosphere. Great show, and while I can't commit to Ohana this early in the year I would gladly see EV again and it would be awesome if he did something with reserved seating and not in a festival atmosphere.0 -
Thank you to all involved in the festival...fantastic time with dear goddess friends in the vip...well worth the travel and wear and tear on my feet...clocked 20 kilometers the first day walking and dancing from stage to stage only 17 the second day bandaged, bruised but belly full of good cheer. Such a blessing to see so many people in one place...all ages and stages of loving life present...Arizona is amazing the wow factor in people and landscapes was simply WOW...felt like i was centuries deep into the future with the free transit, scooters and many memorable moments with native country folk...
Tickle me Tempe
The colours do bloom
The only thing missing is Boom Boom Boom
The keys to the Kingdom
Do reside within...
Time and weather permitting
Forgives all sin
Bring it to the fore
Ground moist at my feet
Years flow to the river
Hardly missed a beat...0 -
So sick of all the negativity. I've seen EV in small theaters and at festivals. Both are great experiences. I've seen PJ at arena's, outdoors and at large festivals. All great experiences.
If someone is obstructing your view at a festival, move. I was right next to the VIP area, make your way to the other side regardless of how packed it is. No one cares you traveled from across the country and he's your favorite artist. I'm sure the other dude is a pretty big fan if he names his kid Vedder. I myself would have been annoyed with the dude, but I wouldn't have sat around and complained about him and certainly would not have put him and his child on blast on a fanview on the forum. Go up to the dude at the festival and politely say something to him.
His money is green just like yours. Don't blame others for your experience. Figure it out yourself.
I was at Innings Festival on Sunday and had a blast. There were annoying people around me plenty of times, just like going out anywhere in public and I removed myself from the are they were inhabiting.
Matt Kerney was the worst crap music I've ever heard, so I walked away and looked at other stuff. I have been VIP at festivals (Bonnaroo 15&16) and left the VIP viewing area because I could get a better experience somewhere else. I can tell you though that I never blamed someone else. If I did, I would have confronted them face to face in the moment, not from my computer screen half way across the country.
My guess is blaming others is your style. The pic you show isn't even bad, you can see everything perfectly fine and there were huge monitors on either side of the stage.Post edited by rbrum7 on1998 - Cleveland, OH - 8/26

I personally don't know much about him, and I didn't know his music before, but I thought it was pretty good and he was entertaining. Weird to single out one artist over a weekend full of a ton of music that suit so many different styles that some will enjoy and others won't.0 -
Mat Kearney was great. Big fan. But to each his (or her own).0
